Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada hasil studi pendahuluan yang menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika lebih didominasi oleh guru (teacher centered) dan kurang memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk mengembangkan berpikir kreatif serta motivasi belajarnya. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan open-ended dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok non-ekuivalen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV salah SD di Kota Palembang tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Sampel pada penelitian ini diambil dua kelas, satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan open-ended dan satu kelas sebagai kelas kontrol yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran langsung. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dan lembar angket motivasi belajar siswa. Analisis data dilakukan terhadap rata-rata pretest, posttest, angket awal, angket akhir, dan normalized change. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan open-ended lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran langsung. Serta diketahui pencapaian dan peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan open-ended lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran langsung. Pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan open-ended terbukti lebih efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa.;---This research is based on the results of a preliminary studies showing that mathematics learning is dominated by teachers (teacher centered) and less opportunity for students to develop creative thingking and learning motivation. The purpose of this study is to achievement and increased mathematical reative thingking ability and learning motivation of students who learn using an open-ended approach with students learning using direaction instruction. This research this is a quasi-experimental reseacrh with non-equivalent group desain. Population of this research were grade IV (fourth) from of the primary school in Palembang city in 2017/2018. The sample of research this taken two classes, one class as an experimental class that is learns to using open-ended approach and the other class as the control class that learns to use direct instruction. The instruments used is a of mathematical creative thinking ability and student learning motivation questionnaire. Data analysis was performed on the average pretest, posttest, intial questionnaire, final questionnaire, and normalized change. Based on results research, it is known that an achievement and improvement of students mathematical creative thingking ability of students who learn use an open-ended approach is higher that students who learn use direct instruction. And it is As known that the achievement and improvement of student learning motivation to learn using an open-ended approach is higher than students who learn to use direct instruction. Learning using an open-ended approach prowed to be more effective to be used in improve mathematical creative thingking abilities and student learning motivation.
