Abstract
Bahan ajar sebagai salah satu komponen pembelajaran penting dalam pembelajaran. penggunaannya oleh guru ditujukan agar tercapai tujuan pembelajaran secara efektif. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk meneliti pengaruh penggunaan bahan ajar berprogram tipe bercabang berbasis PowerPoint terhadap kemandirian belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS. Peneliti berusaha menjawab permasalahan penelitian yang menjadi pokok masalah yaitu “Apakah terdapat perbedaan kemandirian belajar antara siswa yang menggunakan bahan ajar berprogram tipe bercabang dengan siswa yang menggunakan bahan ajar buku teks pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial di MTs Al-Kautsar? ”. Lebih rinci lagi masalah penelitian dirumuskan sebagai berikut : Apakah terdapat perbedaan kemandirian belajar aspek awareness; aspek learning strategies; aspek learning activities; aspek evaluations; dan aspek interpersonal skill antara siswa yang menggunakan bahan ajar berprogram tipe bercabang dengan bahan ajar buku teks. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Control Group Posttest Only Design. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket tertutup tentang kemandirian belajar. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara Cluster Sampling. Hasil penelitian secara umum disimpulkan bahwa kemandirian belajar siswa yang menggunakan bahan ajar berprogram tipe bercabang berbasis PowerPoint lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan bahan ajar buku. Secara khusus dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemandirian belajar siswa pada aspek awareness, aspek evaluations, dan interpersonal skill; dan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemandirian belajar siswa pada aspek learning strategies dan aspek learning activities antara penggunaan bahan ajar berprogram tipe bercabang berbasis PowerPoint dengan bahan ajar buku teks. ------------ Teaching material is one of the important learning components in which its use by a teacher is aimed at achieving the learning objectives effectively. This study intended to examine the effect of using branching programmed learning materials with PowerPoint-based on the students’ learning independence in social science subject. The study tried to answer the research question that became the main problem, "is there any difference in self-directed learning between students who use branching programmed learning materials and students who use textbook teaching materials in social science subject at MTs Al-Kautsar?". In more detailed, the research question was formulated as follows: is there any difference in self-directed learning in terms of the aspects of awareness; learning strategies; learning activities; evaluations; and interpersonal skills between students who use branching programmed learning materials with PowerPoint-based and those who use the textbook. The research method used was a quasi-experimental research design with the control group posttest only design. The instrument was in the form of a closed questionnaire about self-directed learning and the sampling technique chosen was cluster sampling. The result of the researchshowed that in general, the students’ self-directed learning who used the branching programmed learning materials with PowerPoint-based was higher than that of students who used the textbook. Specifically, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in students’ self-directed learning as to the awareness aspect, the aspect of evaluations, and the aspect of interpersonal skills and there is no significant difference in the aspect of learning strategies and the aspect of learning activities between the use of branching programmed learning materials with PowerPoint-based and the textbook.
