Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memotret kemampuan literasi awal siswa kelas satu SD/MI di Kabupaten Bandung tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum adanya data spesifik terkait kemampuan membaca pemulaan siswa SD/MI di Kabupaten Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deksriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang sesuai untuk melihat sejauh mana kemampuan literasi awal siswa. Deskripsi berupa profil pembelajaran dan kemampuan literasi awal siswa kelas I SD/MI. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen penelitian yang diadaptasi dari assesment EGRA (Early Grade Reading Assesment ) dengan lima aspek yaitu aspek membaca huruf, membaca suku kata, membaca kata tidak bermakna, membaca kata bermakna, dan membaca pemahaman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi siswa kelas satu SD/MI di Kabupaten Bandung sudah tergolong cukup baik namun masih kurang dalam membaca pemahaman. Siswa dituntut untuk bisa membaca tanpa memahami apa yang dibaca. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan persentase kemampuan membaca huruf sebesar 73%, membaca suku kata sebesar 74%, membaca kata tidak bermakna 83%, membaca kata bermakna 92%, dan membaca pemahaman sebesar 56%.;--This study aims to photograph the initial literacy skills of first grade students of SD / MI in Bandung Regency in the academic year 2017/2018. This research was motivated by the ability to read the beginnings of elementary / MI students in Bandung District. This study uses descriptive methods with a quantitative approach that is appropriate to see the extent of students' initial literacy abilities. Descriptions in the form of learning profiles and initial literacy skills for grade 1 students of SD / MI. This study uses a research instrument adapted from EGRA assessment with five aspects, namely reading letters, reading syllables, reading words is not meaningful, reading meaningful words, and reading comprehension. The results of this study indicate that the literacy ability of first grade elementary school students in Bandung regency has been classified as good enough but still lacking in reading comprehension. Students are required to be able to read without understanding what is read. This is evidenced by the percentage of the ability to read letters by 73%, reading syllables by 74%, reading words not meaningful 83%, reading words meaning 92%, and reading comprehension by 56%.
