Abstract

Praktikum merupakan salah satu metode pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan minat belajar, namun pada kenyataannya praktikum jarang dilakukan karena keterbatasan alat, untuk mengatasi hal tersebut maka praktikum dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat sederhana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan minat belajar siswa pada materi ekosistem melalui penerapan metode praktikum berbasis alat sederhana. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode weak experimental dengan desain one group pre-test and post-test design. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah penguasaan konsep dan minat belajar dari 32 orang siswa kelas X MIPA di salah satu SMA Kota Bandung yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data diperoleh melalui tes penguasaan konsep dan angket minat belajar yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran, serta angket respon siswa. Peningkatan penguasaan konsep dianalisis menggunakan uji N-gain sedangkan peningkatan minat belajar siswa dianalisis menggunakan perhitungan persentase skor angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa dengan kriteria sedang dan rata-rata N-gain 0,4, sedangkan minat belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari rata-rata persentase 66,3% dengan kriteria minat belajar sedang menjadi 76,6% dengan kriteria minat belajar tinggi. Hasil analisis angket respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran praktikum berbasis alat sederhana memiliki kriteria respon baik. ..... Practicum is one of the learning methods that able to improve the mastery of concepts and interest in learning, but in reality practicum is rarely done due to limited tools, to overcome this the practicum is carried out using simple tools. This study aims to determine the increase in mastery of concepts and student interest in ecosystem topic through the implementation of Practicum based on simple tools. This study used a type of weak experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test design. The sample taken in this study is the mastery of concepts and interest in learning from 32 students of class X MIPA in one of Bandung City high schools which was chosen by purposive sampling technique. Data were obtained through mastery test concepts and interest learning questionnaires given before and after learning, as well as student response questionnaires. The increase in mastery of concepts was analyzed using the N-gain test while the increase in students' interest in learning was analyzed using the calculation of the percentage of questionnaire scores. The results showed that there was an increase in students' mastery of concepts with medium criteria and an average N-gain of 0.4, while students' learning interest had increased from an average percentage of 66.3% with criteria for moderate learning interest being 76.6% with high learning interest criteria. The results of the student response questionnaire analysis showed that simple tool-based learning practicum had good response criteria.
