Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kurang nya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis, terutama menulis cerita pendek. Siswa belum mampu mencari kosa kata yang variatif serta pemilihan nya yang belum tepat. Masih banyak siswa yang menggunakan kosa kata dari bahasa Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerita pendek, mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model karya wisata. Metode yang dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan kajian kuantitatif menggunakan one group pre-test and post-test design ke 30 siswa kelas XI SMA Pasundan 8 Bandung Taun Ajar 2018/2019. Teknik yang digunakan yaitu teknik tes, sedangkan instrumen yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah tes menulis cerita pendek. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa kelas XI Unggulan SMA Pasundan 8 Bandung sebelum menggunakan model karya wisata tergolong belum mampu, dengan rata-rata nilai 64,5, (2) kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa kelas XI Unggulan SMA Pasundan 8 Bandung sesudah menggunakan model karya wisata tergolong mampu, dengan rata-rata nilai 87,1, (3) berdasarkan uji perbedaan (t-test) terdapat perbedaan antara kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model karya wisata. Bisa dilihat dari nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) yaitu 0.000 < 0.05. Oleh karena itu, H_a diterima atau H_0 ditolak. Artinya, hipotesis diterima. Jadi, bisa disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran karya wisata bisa meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa kelas XI Unggulan SMA Pasundan 8 Bandung. Kata Kunci: model karya wisata, kemampuan menulis cerita pendek The background of this research is the lack of student’s capability in writing, especially in writing a short story. Students can’t decide the right vocabulary to write in sentences. So many students use Indonesian vocabulary to write a Sundanese short story. The purposes of this research are to improve students’ ability in writing a short story, to differentiate students’ ability before and after the use of field trip model. The method used in this research is quasi experiment with one group pre-test and post-test design. The object of this research are thirty students of eleventh grade in SMA Pasundan 8 Bandung Period 2018/2019. Technique used in this research is through test with a short story written test as an instrument. The results are: (1) the ability of eleventh grade students of SMA Pasundan 8 Bandung before the use of field trip model are uncapable to write a short story with an average of 64,5, (2) the abilty of eleventh grade students of SMA Pasundan 8 Bandung after the use of field trip model are capable to write a short story with an average of 87,1, (3) Based on the result of t-test, there is a difference in students’ ability between before and after the use of field trip model. It can be seen from the signification value (Sig. 2-tailed) is 0.000 > 0.05. So, H_a is accepted or H_0 is rejected. It means the hypotheses is accepted. In conclusion, field trip model can improve the eleventh grade students of SMA Pasundan 8 Bandung’s ability to write a short story. Keywords: Field Trip Model, The Ability of Writing Short Story
