Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis serta habit of mind matematis siswa melalui penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-Postest Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Minas, Kabupaten Siak dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 124 siswa yang terdiri atas tiga sekolah. Subjek ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dan angket habit of mind matematis. Tes kemampuan kreatif matematis dan angket habit of mind matematis diberikan pada awal dan akhir perlakuan kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji perbedaan dua rataan posttest untuk melihat pencapaian dan uji perbedaan dua rataan skor Ngain utuk melihat peningkatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: bahwa 1) pencapaian kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan RME lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; 2) peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan RME lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; 3) pencapaian habit of mind matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan RME lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; 4) peningkatan habit of mind matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan RME lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; This study aims to find out the enhancement of mathematical creative thinking ability and mathematical habit of mind through realistic mathematics education (RME) approach. This is a quasi – experiment using pretest - posttest control group design. The population of this study is elementary school student in Minas sub – district, Siak district, Riau. The samples are 124 students which consist from three schools. The subject of this study is determined by purposive sampling technique. Data was collected by mathematical creative thinking ability test and mathematical habit of mind questionnaire. The instruments was given in first and last meeting and analyzed by independent sample test or Mann-Withney test from posttest to find out the achievement and a difference test of two N-gain score averages to see the improvement. The results showed: that 1) the achievement of mathematical creative thinking ability of students who obtained learning using the RME approach was higher than that of students who obtained conventional learning; 2) the increase in mathematical creative thinking ability of students who get learning by using the RME approach is higher than students who get conventional learning 3) the achievement of mathematical habit of mind of students who get learning using the RME approach is higher than students who obtain conventional learning; 4) increasing the mathematical habits of mind of students who get learning using the RME approach is higher than students who get conventional learning.
