Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan mendeskripsikan perbedaan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran membaca dengan menggunakan strategi membaca SQ3R melalui model direct instruction dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran membaca dengan strategi membaca PQRST melalui model direct instruction. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V di SDN Cibabat Mandiri 5, Cimahi yang bejumlah 60 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain the pretest-posttest two treatment design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu dengan teknik purposive sampling dimana peneliti hanya memiliki satu kelompok populasi, sehingga tidak ada pertimbangan untuk memilih sampel lain. Instrumen yang digunakan, yaitu berupa pretes, pascates, dan lembar observasi. Pengolahan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan software SPSS 20 dan Microsoft Excel 2010. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah: 1) Penerapan strategi membaca SQ3R melalui model direct instruction dalam pembelajaran membaca dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa, 2) Penerapan strategi membaca PQRST melalui model direct instruction dalam pembelajaran membaca dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa, 3) Terdapat perbedaan peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman antara siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran membaca menggunakanan strategimembaca SQ3R melalui model direct instruction dan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran membaca menggunakan strategi membaca PQRST melalui model direct instruction. Peningkatan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran membaca menggunakan strategi membaca PQRST melalui model direct instruction lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran membaca dengan menggunakan strategi membaca SQ3R melalui model direct instruction.;This study aims to examine and describe differences in reading comprehension skills of students who have learned to read by using the SQ3R reading strategy through the direct instruction model and students who learn to read with the PQRST reading strategy through the direct instruction model. The subjects in this study were 6th grade students at SDN Cibabat Mandiri 5, with total 60 of people. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with the pretest-posttest two treatment design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling technique where the researcher only has one population group, so there is no consideration to choose another sample. The instruments used were pretest, post-test and observation sheet. Data processing in this study uses SPSS 20 and Microsoft Excel 2010. The results obtained are: 1) The application of the SQ3R reading strategy through the direct instruction model in reading learning can improve students' reading comprehension skills, 2) The application of the PQRST reading strategy through the direct instruction model in reading learning can improve students' reading comprehension skills, 3) There is a difference in increasing reading comprehension skills between students who get learning to read using the SQ3R reading strategy through the direct instruction model and students who get learning to read using the PQRST reading strategy through the direct instruction model. Improvement of reading comprehension skills of students who get learning to read using the PQRST reading strategy through the direct instruction model is higher than students who get learning to read by using the SQ3R reading strategy through the direct instruction model.
