Abstract

ABSTRAK PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA DI KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR Oleh Dhei Gianestari 1504279 Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep pada pembelajaran IPA siswa kelas V SDN 136 yang berada di kota Bandung. hal ini dirujuk dengan hasil pre test mengenai pemahaman konsep yang menunjukan siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 30 orang yang dinyatakan tuntas hanya 20% atau 6 orang siswa, sedangkan yang dinyatakan tidak tuntas sebesar 80% atau sebanyak 24 orang siswa, sehingga peneliti menerapkan pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada pembelajaran IPA di kelas V SD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan peningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa di kelas V sekolah dasar dengan menerapkan pendekatan saintifik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model oleh Kemmis dan Taggart, Tahapan pelaksanaan penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi, instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu lembar observasi dan lembar evaluasi siswa individu, sedangkan instrumen pembelajaran yang digunakan yaitu rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, bahan ajar dan lembar kerja siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus dengan partisipan 27 orang siswa kelas V SDN 136 yang berada di Kota Bandung. hasil penelitian pemahaman konsep pada pelaksanaan siklus I mencapai 77,59% berada pada kategori cukup paham, sedangkan pada siklus II pemahaman konsep siswa mencapai 90,92% berada pada kategori paham hal ini menunjukan terjadi peningkatan sebesar 13,33% dari siklus I ke siklus II. Berdasarkan data pemahaman konsep pada siklus I dan siklus II tersebut menunjukan bahwa pendekatan saintifik pada pembelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep di Kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Kata Kunci: pemahaman konsep, IPA, pendekatan saintifik, PTK ------- ABSTRACT THE APPLICATION OF SAINTIFIC APPROACH TO IMPROVE THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONCEPTS IN SCIENCE LEARNING IN FIFTH GRADE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL By Dhei Gianestari 1504279 This research is motivated by the low understanding of the concept of science learning in fifth grade students of SDN 136 in the city of Bandung. this was referenced by the results of the pre test regarding understanding the concept which showed class V students which numbered 30 people who were declared complete only 20% or 6 students, while the ones that were not completed were 80% or as many as 24 students, so researchers applied the scientific approach in learning to improve understanding of concepts in science learning in fifth grade elementary school. This study aims to describe the implementation of learning and improve the understanding of the concepts of students in fifth grade elementary school by applying a scientific approach. The research method used in this study is the class action research method (CAR) using a model by Kemmis and Taggart, the stages of the research include planning, action, observation and reflection, the research instruments used were observation sheets and individual student evaluation sheets, while learning instruments used are learning implementation plans, teaching materials and student worksheets. The study was conducted in two cycles with 27 participants in the fifth grade students of SDN 136 in the city of Bandung. the results of the research understanding of the concept in the implementation of the first cycle reached 77.59% in the category of quite understand, while in the second cycle students' understanding of concepts reached 90.92% in the category of understanding this shows an increase of 13.33% from cycle I to cycle II. Based on the understanding of the concept data in the first cycle and second cycle shows that the scientific approach to science learning can improve understanding of concepts in Class V of Elementary School.
