Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa, dapat dilihat masih banyak siswa yang tidak bisa menuliskan simbol matematika yang sesuai, dan siswa tidak bisa membaca diagram ataupun tabel. Sehingga peneliti merasa perlu melakukan suatu tindakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematika dengan menerapkan pendekatan matematika realistik. Dengan menerapkan pendekatan matematika realistik diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematika. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada siswa kelas IVC di salah satu SDN Kecamatan Bandung Wetan, Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis dan Taggart dengan dua siklus, dan setiap siklusnya terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan pedoman observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada siklus I ketuntasan kemampuan komunikasi matematika mencapai 50% dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 93%. -- This research is based on the low ability of students' mathematics communication. Many students who can not write appropriate mathematical symbols, and students can not read diagrams or tables. So that researchers feel the need to perform an action to solve the problem. The purpose of this research is to describe the improvement of mathematic communication ability by applying realistic mathematical approach. Applying realistic mathematical approach is expected to improve the ability of math communication. This research was conducted to students of IVC class in one of SDN Bandung Wetan Sub-district, Bandung City. The research usesthe Kemmis and Tanggart model class action method with two cycles, and each cycle consists of planning, action, observing, and reflecting. The data collection instrument uses observation and test guidelines The results based on the Individual Evaluation Sheet instrument in the first cycle of mathematical communication skills completeness reached 50% and increases in second cycle to 93%.
