Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas V sebelum dan sesudah mendapatkan perlakuan belajar menggunakan pendekatan RME dan mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan RME dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunukasi siswa. Populasi dan sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas V-C yang berjumlah 29 siswa pada tahun akademik 2017/2018 di sebuah SD Negeri di Kecamatan Cidadap Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa sekolah dasar di Indonesia menurut PISA 2015. Sedangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis merupakan hal yang penting dalam pembelajaran matematika karena mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran dan hasil belajar siswa. Penggunaan pendekatan RME diyakini dapat meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimental dengan desain pre-eksperimental tipe one group pretest posttest. Data penelitian dalam bentuk kuantitatif (tes) dan data kualitatif (lembar observasi). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kemampuan komunikasi siswa sebelum dan sesudah belajar menggunakan pendekatan RME menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan dan pendekatan RME efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa, karena kualitas peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematika termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan RME memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi matematika siswa.;---The aim of this research is to know the difference of students 'mathematical communication skills improvement before and after learning using RME approach and to know the effectiveness of RME approach in improving students' communication skills. RME in improving students' communication skills. Population and sample of this research is V-C class which amounts to 29 students's in academic year 2017/2018 at a Elementary School in Sub Cidadap Bandung City. This research is based on the low level of communication ability of elementary school students in Indonesia according to PISA 2015. While the ability of mathematical communication is important in learning mathematics because it affects the learning process and student learning outcomes. The use of the RME approach is believed to improve students' mathematical communication skills. This research uses experimental research method with pre-experimental design type one group pretest posttest. Research data in the form of quantitative (test) and qualitative data (observation sheet). The result of this research is students' communication ability before and after learning using RME approach shows significant difference and learning to use RME approach is effective in improving students' mathematical communication ability, because the quality of improvement of math communication ability is included in medium category. Based on the above results it can be concluded that the use of the RME approach has a significant influence on students 'mathematical communication skills and is effective in improving students' mathematical communication skills.
