Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Jatiwangi Kabupaten Majalengka. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran cooperative learning teknik Numbered Heads Togehter (NHT) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi materi Perdagangan Internasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan motode kuasi eksperimen dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis berbentuk uraian. Hipotesis diuji menggunakan uji parametrik yaitu uji independent-samples t test dan paired–sample t test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (i) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen antara sebelum dan setelah diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran cooperative learning teknik Numbered Heads Together (NHT) pada materi perdagangan internasional pada kategori tinggi; (ii) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas kontrol antara sebelum dan setelah diberi perlakuan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab pada materi perdagangan internasional pada kategori sedang; (iii) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran cooperative learning teknik Numbered Heads Together (NHT) dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab.;--The main problem in this research is grade XI Social students’ low critical thinking ability in economy subject in SMA Negeri 1 Jatiwangi Kabupaten Majalengka. The aim of this research is to know the influence of cooperative learning model with technique of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) towards students’ critical thinking ability in Economy subject under the topic of Intenational Trades. This study used quasi-experimental method with non-equivalent control group design. The instrument of this study is written test in the form of essay. The hypotheses were tested using a parametric test, paired-sample t-test and independent samples t-test. The result of this study showed that: (i) there is difference in the improvement of students’ critical thinking ability in experiment class before and after the treatment of cooperative learning model with technique of Numbered Heads Together (NHT), the improvement category is high; (ii) there is difference in the improvement of students’ critical thinking ability in control class before and after the treatment of conventional methode, the improvement category is medium; (iii) there is a difference in improvement of students’ critical thinking skill between experiment class with the treatment of Cooperative Learning model with techniques of Numbered Heads Together (NHT) and control class that used conventional.
