Abstract

Penelitian ini berawal dari rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa pada pembelajaran matematika dengan rata-rata sebesar 49,03 dan Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yaitu 75.00, sedangkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa sebagai dasar untuk mempelajarai matematika selanjutnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan pendekatan realistic mathematics education (2) peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa setelah menerapkan pendekatan realistic mathematics education. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV A yang berjumlah 31 SDN Cipto Pajajaran Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) menurut Kemmis dan MC. Taggart yang dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus dengan menerapakan empat prisip dimulai dengan didactic phenomology, progresive matematization, guided reinvention dan self depeloped model. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi dan tes evaluasi siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pada pelaksanaan penerapan pendekatan realistic mathematics education dan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Pada siklus II presentase nilai rata-rata evaluasi test pemahaman konsep matematis siswa telah mencapai KKM. Siswa sudah dapat memberikan contoh dari sebuah konsep, siswa dengan mudah mengaplikasikan sebuah konsep dan siswa dengan mudah menemukan prosedur pemecahan masalah, serta penerapan pendekatan realistic mathematics education pada siklus II telah terlaksana secara keseluruhan dengan baik dan tepat. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan realistic mathematics education dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas IV SDN Dr. Cipto Pajajaran Kecamatan Cicendo Kota Bandung.;--This research started from the low comprehension of student concept on learning mathematics with average of 49,03 and Minimum Exhaustiveness Criterion (KKM) that is 75.00, while comprehension of student mathematical concept as base to learn math next. This study aims to describe: (1) implementation of mathematics learning by applying realistic mathematics education approach (2) improving students' mathematical concept understanding after applying realistic mathematics education approach. Participants in this study were students of class IV A which amounted to 31 SDN Cipto Pajajaran Bandung. This research use Class Action Research method (PTK) according Kemmis and MC. Taggart is done two cycles by applying four principles starting with didactic phenomology, progresive matematization, guided reinvention and self depeloped model. The instruments of this study is the observation sheet and the student evaluation test. The results showed an improvement on the implementation of realistic mathematics education approach and understanding of students' mathematical concepts. In cycle II the percentage of the average value of the evaluation of the students' understanding of mathematical concepts has reached the KKM. Students are able to give examples of a concept, students easily apply a concept and students easily find the procedure of problem solving, and application of realistic mathematics education approach in cycle II has been done as a whole well and appropriately. This research can be concluded that realistic mathematics education approach can improve understanding of mathematical concept of fourth grade students of SDN Dr. Cipto Pajajaran District Cicendo Bandung.
