Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil wawancara dan observasi kelas yang menunjukkan peserta didik belum mampu memahami materi pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan, model pembelajaran yang tidak bervariasi dan nilai mata pelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan yang rendah dibandingkan dengan kelas lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan civic knowledge peserta didik dengan menggunakan model tutor sebaya (peer group). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan lokasi penelitian di kelas VII-D SMP Negeri 15 Bandung yang berjumlah 24 peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam tiga siklus. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, wawancara, tes, dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data terdiri dari data kualitatif secara deskriptif dan data kuantitatif dengan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) perencanaan dilakukan berupa penyusunan RPP dan soal evaluasi dalam tiga siklus; (2) pelaksanaan model diterapkan dalam tiga siklus dengan empat tahapan dan para tutor menunjukkan respon peserta didik merasa termotivasi dan semangat dalam pembelajaran, lebih mudah memahami materi dan menjawab soal, tidak merasa malu untuk bertanya, berani dalam menyampaikan pendapat serta menghargai dalam kelompok; (3) Rata-rata nilai tes pada siklus I yaitu 60,55 dengan persentase 33,33%; siklus II yaitu 93,65 dengan persentase 91,67%; dan siklus III yaitu 93,85 dengan persentase sebesar 100%; (4) hambatan yang dihadapi berupa keterbatasan waktu dan pengelolaan kelas yang kurang efisien; (4) upaya yang dilakukan berupa diskusi dengan observer, mengefisiensikan waktu dan mengelola kelas dengan variatif. Berdasarkan hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa civic knowledge peserta didik dapat meningkat dengan penggunaan model tutor sebaya (peer group) pada pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan.;---This research is based by the results of interviews and classroom observations that show students have not been able to understand the subject matter of Civic Education, learning models is not vary and they have lower grades of Civic Education compared with other classroom. This research aims to improve the civic knowledge of students by using peer tutor model (peer group). The research method used classroom action research and the location in VII-D class at SMPN 15 Bandung which amounted to 24 students. This research was conducted in three cycles. Data collection tools used are observation sheets, interview, test, and documentation studies. Data analysis consists of qualitative data with descriptive and quantitative data with percentage. The result of research shows that: (1) the planing is made by developing a learning implementation plan and evaluation questions for each cycle; (2) implementation of the model is carried out in four stages in each cycle; (3) the students responses feel motivated and enthusiastic in learning, easier to understand the subject matter and can answer the questions, not embarrassed to ask questions, brave in expressing opinions and appreciating in groups and the average test value in cycle I is 60.55 with percentage 33.33%; average value at cycle II is 93.65 with percentage 91.67%; and average value at cycle III is 93.85 with percentage 100%; (4) barriers faced by time constraints and less efficient class management: (5) efforts made in the form of discussions with observers driving good time and class management with varied. Based on this, it shows that civic knowledge of students can increase with use peer tutor model (peer group) on learning Civic Education.
