Abstract

Jadi, penerapan cooperative learning tipe STAD mengoptimalkan kemampuan siswa dalam membuat peta konsep dan meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa.;--- This study aims to obtain a picture of students' ability in making concept maps and improving student achievement on pressure concept. Learning process used cooperative learning type STAD (Student Team Achievement Discusion). The research method used is pre experimental with one group pretest-postest design. This study was conducted at Junior High School in Ciamis to students class VIII using the sample random technique, by choosing one class of nine classes. The subject were 28 students. The research instrument is a multiple choice test of 25 questions and design student concept maps. The result of the analysis used the normalized gain show that increase student achievement obtained by data amount to 0,62 with medium category , the students' ability in making concept maps based on Novak rule obtained the average value of students to 67,48 with medium category and the correlation value between througt create consept map and learning achievement amount 0,446 with medium category. So that, the use of cooperative learning STAD type improve students' ability to create concept maps and improve student learning achievement.
