Abstract

Kepulauan Indonesia memiliki jumlah hutan yang besar. Namun, keberadaannya mulai terancam dan berkurang jumlahnya dari waktu ke waktu. Hilangnya jumlah hutan disebabkan akibat bencana alam dan juga oleh aktivitas manusia dalam penggunaan hutan secara tidak terkendali secara brutal. Penulis mengangkat kepulauan Indonesia sebagai objek visual dan ide gagasan sebagai gambaran fenomena yang terjadi, seperti tentang eksploitasi hutan yang menyebabkan kerugian dan mempengaruhi lingkungan secara buruk. Dampaknya juga bisa dirasakan oleh masyarakat sekitar dan bahkan negara tetangga akibat kerusakan hutan yang terjadi di Indonesia seperti kebakaran hutan. Pembuatan karya ini adalah untuk menjawab rumusan masalah; bagaimana ide berkarya, proses, teknik, visualisasi dan analisis visual karya seni relief bentuk geometris menggunakan bahan berbasis kayu dengan peta kepulauan Indonesia sebagai objek dan gagasan karya seni. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pembuat karya ini beragam seperti teknik modeling, dan assembling. Sebelum memulai proses pembuatan karya, penulis melakukan kontemplasi, setelah mendapatkan ide berkarya, maka penulis melanjutkan ide setelah mendapatkan stimulus. Proses awal pembuatan karya adalah membuat desain dan kemudian membuat pola, kemudian proses pembentukan dengan memotong kayu sesuai dengan polanya. Langkah selanjutnya adalah merapikan setiap permukaan sebelum akhirnya proses finishing dan dilanjutkan ke tahap perakitan sebagai proses terakhir dalam pembuatan karya ini. Penulis berharap karya ini bisa menjadi bahan ajar di masa depan dan bisa menjadi referensi dalam berkarya seni relief.-----Indonesian archipelago has large number of forests. Yet, its existence begins to be threatened and reduce in number over time. The reduced number of forests is caused by the damage which caused by natural disasters and also by human activities in brutally uncontrolled use of the forests. The writer raises the Indonesian archipelago as a visual object and idea as a description of the phenomenon that occurs, such as about the exploitation of forests that causes harm and affects the environment badly. The impact can also be felt by the surrounding people and even neighboring countries due to damage of the forests occurring in Indonesia such as wildfires. The making of this work is to answer problem of the study; how is the idea of work, the process, the technique, the visualization and visual analysis of relief work of geometric shape using wooden based materials with a map of the Indonesian archipelago as the object and the idea of the art work. The techniques used in making this work vary such as modeling, and assembling. Before starting on the process of making the works, the writer did contemplation, after getting the idea of work, then he proceed of ideas after he got stimulus. The initial process of making the work is making the design and then making the pattern, then the process of forming by cutting wood according to the pattern. The next steps is smoothing every surface before at last the finishing process and continued to the assembling step as the last process in making this work. The writer hopes this work can be a learning material in the future and can be a reference in the art of relief work.
