Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan siswa yang kesulitan menjawab pertanyaan setelah membaca teks bacaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode PQ4R untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi dan tes membaca pemahaman. Analisis data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui presentase dan nilai rata-rata siswa. Analisis data kualitatif diperoleh melalui reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model kemmis dan Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan pada siklus 1 presentase keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa adalah 61% dan meningkat pada siklus 2 menjadi 92%. Dari hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa metode PQ4R dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas VC SDN SKJ 1 Bandung.---- The research was distributed by low skills reading comprehension of students. It is characterized by difficulty students answer question after reading the teks readings. This research aims to improve the skills of reading comprehension grade V primary school. Data collecton tools used in the form of sheets of observer and reading comprehension tests. Analysis of quantitative data obtained through percent age and average students. Qualitative analysis of data obtained through the data reductin, data display, and conclusion drawing. The method in this research is the research action class (PTK) model Kemmis and Taggart was implemented in two cycles. The results of the research done indicates on cycle 1 percentage of intermediate reading comprehension of student is 61% and the increase in cycle 2 to 92%. From these result, it can be inferred that the PQ4R method can improve the skills of reading comprehension grade V school SKJ 1 Bandung.
