Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar IPA Terpadu tema Tanah Sebagai sumber kehidupan bagi siswa SMP yang memenuhi kriteria kelayakan dan mudah dipahami siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah developmental research. Metode pengembangan bahan ajar yang digunakan adalah Four Step Teaching Materials Development (4STMD), yang terdiri dari tahapan seleksi, strukturisasi, karakterisasi, dan reduksi didaktik. Pada tahap seleksi dilakukan pengembangan ruang lingkup materi dari tema berdasarkan kurikulum, kemudian pengembangan konsep-konsep pokok yang bersumber dari buku teks. Pada tahap strukturisasi dikembangkan sistematika penulisan bahan ajar dengan menyusun peta konsep, struktur makro, dan multipel representasi. Pada tahap karakterisasi dilakukan uji keterpahaman untuk mngidentifikasi kesulitan materi pada bahan ajar. Materi yang sulit kemudian direduksi tingkat kesulitannya pada tahap reduksi didaktik. Pada tahap evaluasi dilakukan uji kelayakan dan uji keterpahaman bahan ajar. uji kelayakan bahan ajar yang dilakukan oleh 4 orang guru IPA menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar ini memenuhi kriteria layak dari aspek isi, bahasa, penyajian, dan kegrafikan dengan presentase rata-rata 83,15%. Bahan ajar diuji keterpahamannya oleh 56 siswa dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 87% materi memiliki tingkat kesuilitan yang mudah dan 13% sisanya memiliki tingkat kesulitan sedang . ------- This study aims to develop the integrated science teaching materials for junior high school in theme of Soil as source of life. The research method of this study is Developmental Research (DR). Teaching materials development method that is used is Four Steps Teaching Materials Development (4STMD), which consists of selection, structuralization, characterization, and didactic reduction. At the selection step, teaching materials development is begun with the scope development of soil as source of life theme based on curriculum demands. Then, the development of basic concepts. Structuralization step produced a concept map as a part of teaching materials which show concepts relationship; macro structure which provides systematic guidance in writing of teaching materials; and multiple representation that connects among macroscopic, microscopic, and symbolic level representations. The result of these two steps is teaching materials draft. At characterization step, comprehension test conducted to identify difficulty levels of teaching materials. The difficulty levels of materials then reduced in didactic reduction step. At evaluation, feasibility test and comprehension test of teaching materials is conducted. Feasibility test conducted by 4 science teachers, shows that this teaching materials meets criteria of the content, language, presentation, and graphic aspects with average percentage of 83.15%. This teaching materials was tested by 56 students and the result shows that 87% of the material has an easy level of difficulty and the remaining 13% have medium difficulty levels.
