Abstract

POEW (Predict-Observe-Explain-Write) merupakan model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dari model pembelajaran POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) dan TTW (Think-Talk-Write). Penggunaan model pembelajaran POEW (Predict-Observe-Explain-Write) diharapkan dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa tentang Pencemaran Lingkungan khususnya pencemaran air dan udara. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran pengaruh model pembelajaran POEW (Predict-Observe-Explain-Write) sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa SMA pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One- Group Pretest Posttest. Sebelum dilakukan pembelajaran POEW penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan berada dalam kategori kurang. Setelah dilakukan pembelajaran berbasis POEW penguasaan konsep siswa meningkat dan berada dalam kategori baik. Ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa setelah pembelajaran POEW dilakukan meningkat. Model pembelajaran POEW ini cocok digunakan pada siswa yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang dan rendah dalam hal prestasi belajarnya. Peningkatan penguasaan konsep pencemaran lingkungan siswa, secara keseluruhan rata-rata skor N-gain peningkatan penguasaan konsep siswa berada dalam kategori sedang dengan skor N-gain 0,67. Sebagian siswa memberikan respon setuju menerapkan model pembelajaran POEW pada materi lain yang menunjukkan ketertarikan siswa terhadap model pembelajaran tersebut. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran POEW memberikan pengaruh terhadap penguasaan konsep pencemaran lingkungan siswa SMA;--- POEW (Predict-Observe-Explain-Write) developed from POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) and TTW (Think-Talk-Write) model learning. The use of POEW (Predict-Observe-Explain-Write) learning model is expected to improve students' mastery of the concept of Environmental Pollution, especially water and air pollution. The purpose of this research is to get a description of the influence of the learning model of POEW (Predict-Observe-Explain-Write) as an effort to improve the mastery of high school students concept on environmental pollution material. The method used in this research is One-Group Pretest Posttest research design. Before the learning of POEW mastery of student concepts on environmental pollution material are in the category less. After the learning based on POEW mastery of student concepts increased and are in good category. The completeness of student learning outcomes after the learning of POEW was increased. This POEW learning model is suitable for students who are in the medium and low category in terms of learning achievement. Increased mastery of the concept of environmental pollution of students, overall average N-gain score increased mastery of student concepts are in the medium category with a score of N-gain 0.67. Some students responded applying the POEW learning model to other materials that showed students' interest in the learning model. It can be concluded that the model of learning POEW gives influence to the students mastery concept of environmental pollution of high school.
