Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif siswa sekolah dasar menggunakan strategi joyfull learning berbantuan media pop up book. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasi Experiment dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Matching Pretest – Posttest Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa pada kelas III dari dua sekolah dasar di kota Bukittinggi, Sumatera Barat sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan dengan tes kemampuan kognitif berbentuk pilihan ganda. Karakteristik tes dianalisis menggunakan CVR dan analisis tes yang meliputi validitas item, indeks kesukaran, daya beda, dan reliabitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan kognitif antara kelas yang menggunakan strategi joyfull learning berbantuan media pop up book dengan yang hanya menggunakan strategi joyfull learning Hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan, peningkatan pada kemampuan kognitif mengingat (C1) aspek mengingat berkategori sedang dan aspek mengenali berkategori tinggi, kemampuan kognitif memahami (C2) pada kelas eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa aspek mencontohkan, menjelaskan, mengklasifikasikan berkategori sedang, dan pada kemampuan kognitif mengaplikasikan (C3) pada setiap aspeknya di kelas eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa aspek mengimplementasikan berkategori sedang. Pada kelas kontrol rerataan gain dinormalisasikan aspek mengingat dan aspek mengenali berkategori sedang, aspek mencontohkan, menjelaskan, mengklasifikasikan berkategori rendah, aspek mengimplementasikan berkategori rendah. Kata kunci : Kemampuan Kognitif, Joyfull Learning, Pop Up Book, Sekolah Dasar ABSTRACT This study aims to improve cognitive skills for elementary students using joyfull learning strategies assisted pop up book media. In this study using Quasi Experiment method with research design used is Matching Pretest - Posttest Control Group Design. The subjects of this study were students in third grade of elementary school in Bukittinggi city, West Sumatra as control class and experiment class in academic year 2016/2017. Data collection in this study was used with multiple cognitive ability test. Characteristics of the test were analyzed using CVR and test analysis that included item validity, difficulty index, differentiation, and reliabity. The result of the research shows that there is a difference of cognitive ability improvement between classes using joyfull learning strategy with pop up book and with only using joyfull learning strategy. The results can be concluded, the improvement in cognitive ability considering (C1) aspect remembering medium category and the stray aspect categorized high, cognitive ability to understand (C2) in the experimental class shows the aspects of modeling, explaining, classifying medium category, and on cognitive ability to apply (C3) aspect in the experimental class the implementation aspect is medium. In the control class the gain gains are normalized to the aspect of recall and the aspects are Medium, the examples show, explain, classify the low category, the implementation aspects of the low category.
