Abstract
Penelitian ini didasarkan rendahnya keterampilan siswa dalam menyeleksi informasi, bertanya, bekerjasama dan sikap saling menghargai. Sehingga mengakibatkan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis dan interaksi sosial siswa. Hal ini disebabkan materi yang disampaikan bersifat konvensional tanpa mendapatkan informasi aktual dan berpusat pada guru. Tujuan penelitian meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan interaksi sosial siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri sosial. Metode yang digunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas terdiri dari tiga siklus, pada setiap siklus meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. penelitian dilakukan di kelas IV dengan jumlah partisipan 44 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes dan observasi. Analisis data menggunakan data kuantitatif dan dideskripsikan melalui data kualitatif. Model inkuiri sosial menekankan proses mencari dan menemukan sendiri jawaban atas suatu masalah sosial melalui sintaks inkuiri sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada siklusnya dari kategori cukup menjadi kritis (2) Adanya peningkatan interaksi sosial siswa pada siklusnya dari kategori cukup menjadi baik. Hasil penelitian dapat dijadikan referensi dan rekomendasi pihak sekolah dan pihak peneliti berikutnya. The research is based on students' lack in selecting the information, asking, cooperating and respect to others. So those give effect to critical thinking ability and students’social interaction. This is because the material presented is still conventional without getting the actual information and learning dominated by the teacher, so it made teacher-centered learning. This research aims to increase critical thinking ability and social interaction of students in Social Studies (IPS) using social inquiry learning model. The method used in this research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of three cycles, each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research is held in IV grade with amount of the participants are 44 students. The data collection techniques are using test and observation. The data analysis is using quantitative which describing into qualitative. The social inquiry model emphasizes the process of searching and finding answers on a social problem through social inquiry syntax. The research results show: (1) There is an increase in the ability of critical thinking of students in its cycles from average to good category (2) There is an increase in the social interaction of students in its cycle from average to good category. The research result can be a reference and recommendation to the school and the next researcher.
