Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya nilai matematika siswa Sekolah Dasar kelas III dengan persentase ketuntasan data awal sebesar 53% . Hal ini disebabkan karena cara belajar yang diterapkan kepada siswa hanya dengan menghafal. Oleh karena itu, peneliti mencoba menerapakan pendekatan kontekstual dengan tujuan penelitian (1) Untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa pada pokok bahasan sifat-sifat operasi hitung penjumlahan dan perkalian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode (PTK), model Kemmis dan Taggart sebanyak dua siklus. Tahapan PTK terdiri atas Perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan berupa tes dan observasi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa Sekolah Dasar kelas III dengan jumlah siswa 32. Adapun hasil penelitian dengan menerapkan pendekatan kontekstual pada pembelajaran matematika materi operasi hitung penjumlahan dan perkalian mengalami peningkatan yang baik, dapat dibuktikan melalui pemahaman konsep siswa dapat dilihat dari hasil belajar siswa, dengan rata-rata yang diperoleh pada siklus I sebesar 77, dengan persentase ketuntasan mencapai 69%. Untuk siklus II lebih meningkat dengan rata-rata sebesar 84 dengan ketuntasan mencapai 84%. This research is based on the low grade mathematics grade of elementary school students with the percentage of completeness of initial data is 53%. This is because the way of learning is applied to students by simply memorizing. Therefore, the researcher tries to apply the contextual approach with the purpose of research (1) To improve the students' understanding of mathematical concepts on the subject of the counting and multiplication operation characteristics. This study uses the method (PTK), Kemmis and Taggart model as much as two cycles. The PTK stage consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Technique of collecting data which done in the form of test and observation. The subjects of the study were elementary school students class III with the number of students 32. The results of research by applying a contextual approach to learning mathematics material counts summation and multiplication operations have improved, can be proven through the understanding of student concepts can be seen from student learning outcomes, Average obtained in the first cycle of 77, with the percentage of completeness reached 69%. For the second cycle increased by an average of 84 with completeness reached 84%.
