Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi sains dan penguasaan konsep fisika siswa yang ditandai dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata berturut-turut 40 dan 48, dimana nilai tersebut masih di bawah nilai KKM yaitu 70. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan oleh penulis untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penguasaan konseo fisika dan kemampuan komunikasi sains siswa yaitu dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe think pair share. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe think pair share terhadap kemampuan komunikasi sains dan penguasaan konsep fisika siswa. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA yang berada di Kota Bandung. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa dalam satu kelas X MIA D. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pre-Eksperimental Designs dengan rancangan One-Group Pretes-Posttest Designs. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari instrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi sains dan penguasaan konsep fisika yang berupa soal pretes dan postes, instrumen non tes yang berupa lembar penilaian diskusi pasangan, lembar penilaian presentasi, lembar penilaian laporan dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi sains dan penguasaan konsep fisika siswa meningkat setelah mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe think pair share dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata 74,03 untuk kemampuan komunikasi sains dan 74,93 untuk penguasaan konsep fisika, yang juga terlihat dari nilai effect size sebesar 0,51 untuk kemampuan komunikasi sains dan 0,52 untuk penguasaan konsep fisika siswa yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Simpulan dari penelitian ini model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe think pair share berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi sains dan penguasaan konsep fisika siswa. One of the efforts that can be done by the writer to improve the ability Mastery of physics concept and science communication ability of student that is by using cooperative learning model type think pair share. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of cooperative learning learning type of think pair share to the ability of science communication and mastery of physics concepts of students. The population in this study is the students of class X in one of the high schools located in the city of Bandung. The samples in this study were students in one class X MIA D. The research method used was Pre-Experimental Designs with Pretest-Posttest Designs One-Group design. The instruments used in this research consisted of science communication skill test and mastery of physics concepts in the form of pretest and postes problem, non test instrument in the form of couples discussion sheet, presentation appraisal sheet, report assessment sheet and observation sheet. The results showed that the ability of science communication and mastery of the physics concept of students increased after getting learning with cooperative learning model type think pair share with the average value of 74.03 for the ability of science communication and 74.93 for the mastery of the concept of physics, which is also seen From the value of effect size of 0,51 for the communication ability of science and 0,52 for the mastery of physics concepts of students which included in medium category. Conclusion from this research cooperative learning model type think pair share influence on science communication ability and mastery of physics concept of student.
