Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan pemahaman, komuniasi matematis serta adversity quotient. Namun kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman, komuniasi matematis serta adversity quotient siswa masih rendah. Agar permasalahan tersebut dapat di atasi diperlukan sebuah model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman, komuniasi matematis serta adversity quotient. Oleh karena itu, dipilih model pembelajaran accelerated learning berbasis teori multiple intelligences. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Provinsi Jambi. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelas yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan pemahaman dan komunikasi matematis, angket adversity quotient, lembar observasi, dan jurnal siswa. Berdasarkan analisis data ditemukan bahwa Peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan komunikasi matematis serta adversity quotient siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran accelerated learning berbasis teori mutiple intelligences lebih baik secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran konvensional. ----------- This research is motivated by the importance of mathematical understanding and communication ability and adversity quotient. Mathematical understanding and communication ability and adversity quotient of students is still low. In order that this problems can be solved, a learning model that can enhance mathematical understanding and communication ability and adversity quotient of students is required. In this research, accelerated learning model assisted multiple intelligences theory approach was selected. This research was a quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The population was students at seventh grade in one of junior high school in jambi. The sample consisted of two classes which was selected by purposive sampling. This research used instruments test of mathematical understanding and communication ability, adversity quotient questionnaire, observations sheets, and students journal. Based on the data analysis, it is found that the enhancement of mathematical understanding and communication ability and adversity quotient of students who received the accelareted learning model assisted multiple intelligences theory is better significance than of students who received coventional learning model.
