Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan berpikir aljabar dan self-efficacy matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung. Adapun sampel penelitiannya adalah dua kelas siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data dalam penelitian dikumpulkan melalui tes dan skala. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji perbedaan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa; (2) Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa ditinjau dari KAM tinggi dan rendah. Namun, tidak lebih tinggi secara signifikan pada KAM sedang; (3) Self-efficacy matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa; (4) Self-efficacy matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa ditinjau dari KAM tinggi dan rendah. Namun, tidak lebih tinggi secara signifikan pada KAM sedang.;---The purpose of this study is examining the enhancement of algebraic thinking and self-efficacy mathematics based on learning with concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) approach. This research is a quasi-experiment with non-equivalent control group design. Implementation of this research was conducted on grade VII students in one of junior high school in Bandung city. The instruments used in this research are mathematics prior knowledge test, algebraic thinking test, and mathematics self-efficacy scale. Based on statistical analysis, indicated that: (1) Enhancement of the students’ algebraic thinking who received concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) approach significantly higher than the students who received conventional learning (2) In the high and low categories of mathematical prior knowledge, the enhancement of students’ algebraic thinking who received concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) approach significantly higher than the students who received conventional learning (3) Mathematics self-efficacy of students learning who received concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) approach significantly higher than the students who received conventional learning (4) In the high and low categories of mathematical prior knowledge, mathematics self-efficacy of students learning who received concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) approach significantly higher than the students who received conventional learning.
