Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan sosial siswa Sekolah Dasar. Rendahnya keterampilan sosial tersebut dapat dilihat dari beberapa indikator. Indikator tersebut diantaranya siswa sukar berkomunikasi, mengeluarkan pendapat serta bekerja sama. Gaya belajar siswa juga cenderung pasif, individualistis serta mengarah pada sifat egois. Ketidakseimbangan dalam hal pertemanan juga terlihat. Kadang juga terjadi perkelahian antara teman sebaya maupun dengan yang berbeda usia. Siswa juga kurang peka terhadap berbagai permasalahan sosial yang ada di daerahnya dan sukar bekerjasama untuk mengatasinya. Oleh karena itu, guru melalui proses pembelajarannya harus mampu mengembangkan metode pembelajaran yang dapat melatih serta mengembangkan aspek keterampilan sosial siswanya terutama dalam hal komunikasi serta kerjasama. Salah satu alternatif pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa adalah metode Cooperative Learning Tipe Group Investigation dan Tipe Jigsaw. Keduanya memiliki kelebihan serta kekurangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan membandingkan metode mana yang lebih efektif diantara keduanya dalam rangka meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa. Menurut metodenya, penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa Sekolah Dasar. Adapun sampel penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas IV SD Bojongsalam V Kecamatan Rancaekek yang dipilih secara acak menurut kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa lembar observasi, lembar angket keterampilan sosial siswa, serta tes pencapaian materi permasalahan sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan keterampilan sosial sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan dengan menggunakan Cooperative Learning tipe Group Investigation dan tipe Jigsaw, namun diantara keduanya tipe Jigsaw lebih tinggi hasilnya tetapi tidak terlalu signifikan. Kedua metode tersebut direkomendasikan untuk diaplikasikan dalam pembelajaran dengan tetap melihat kesesuaian faktor-faktor lain, seperti materi ajar dsb. Kata kunci: Group Investigation , Jigsaw, keterampilan sosial. This research is motivated by the lack of social skills of elementary school students. Lack of social skills can be seen from several indicators. These indicators are students is difficult to communicate, issuing opinions and work together. Learning styles of students also tend to be passive, individualistic and leads to selfishness. Imbalance in terms of friendship is also visible. Sometimes a fight broke out among peers as well as with different ages. Students are also less sensitive to a variety of social problems that exist in the area and difficult to work together to overcome them. Therefore, teachers in the learning process should be able to develop a method of learning that can train and develop social skills aspects of their students, especially in terms of communication and cooperation. One alternative learning that can improve the social skills of students is a method of Cooperative Learning type Group Investigation and Jigsaw. Both have advantages and disadvantages. This study aimed to compare which method is more effective between them in order to improve the social skills of students. According to the method, this research is an experimental research. The subjects were elementary school students. The research sample is a fourth grade student Bojongsalam V District of Rancaekek selected randomly by class. The instrument used in the research were observation sheet, sheet questionnaire the students' social skills, as well as the test material gain social problems. The results showed there are differences in social skills before and after treatment using the Cooperative Learning type Group Investigation and Jigsaw, but between the two types of Jigsaw higher but the results are not very significant. Both methods are recommended to be applied in learning by keeping in view the suitability of other factors, such as teaching materials etc. Keywords : Group Investigation, Jigsaw, social skills.
