Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil belajar pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang masih di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM), serta proses pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru dan cenderung membosankan. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang diterapkan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah model quantum teaching. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan dan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan menerapkan model Quantum Teaching. Metode yang digunakan dalam peneltitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus. Data dalam penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, catatan lapangan, dan tes evaluasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pada proses pembelajaran dan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dari tes pemahaman konsep matematis siswa mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I ketuntasan belajar siswa hanya mencapai 54,29% mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 97.14%. Selain itu peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa juga terlihat dari pemerolehan nilai rata-rata tes evalusi pada siklus I, rata-rata nilai siswa hanya mencapai 71.86 meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 83. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model quantum teaching dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. -------- This research is based on the low understanding of students' mathematical concepts.This is evidenced by the learning outcomes of understanding the mathematical concepts of students who are still under the Minimum Exhaustiveness Criteria (KKM), as well as the learning process that is still centered on teachers and tend to be boring. One of the learning model applied to solve the problem is quantum teaching model. This study aims to determine the implementation and improvement of students' understanding of mathematical concepts by applying Quantum Teaching model. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research with Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model which is conducted on two cycles. Participants in this study were students of grade IV in one elementary school in Bandung, amounted to 35 students. The data in the study were obtained through observation, field notes, and evaluation tests. This is proven from the comprehension test of mathematical concepts of student experiencing an icrease from cycle I to cycle II. In the first cycle student’ learning mastery reaches only 54.29% increase in cycle II to 97.14% . In addition, the improvement of students’ mathematical concept understanding is also evident from the average score of evaluation test in cycle I, the average of the student score only 71.43 increase in cycle II to 82.14. From these results can be conluded that the quantum teaching model can improve students’ understanding of mathematical concepts.
