Abstract

Berpikir aljabar merupakan salahsatu kemampuan berpikir yang penting untuk dikuasai siswa. Di sekolah dasar, aspek menggeneralisasi pola dapat dikembangkan sebagai jembatan untuk mengembangkan berpikir aljabar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi learning obstacle yang dihadapi siswa pada pengembangan berpikir aljabar di sekolah dasar, merancang desain didaktis berdasarkan learning obstacle yang ditemukan, mengimplementasikan desain didaktis awal, dan menganalisis proses implementasi sehingga menghasilkan desain didaktis revisi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Didactical Design Research (DDR). Penelitian dilakukan di dua sekolah dasar dengan partisipan sebanyak 66 siswa kelas III sekolah dasar pada studi pendahuluan learning obstacle dan 37 siswa pada implementasi desain didaktis yang sudah dirancang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes, wawancara, dan observasi. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan enam kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa dalam pengembangan berpikir aljabar yang dikategorikan ke dalam ontological obstacle, didactical obstacle, dan epistemological obstacle. Desain didaktis awal yang dikembangkan terdiri dari lima lesson design. Dari hasil implementasi disain didaktis awal diperoleh siswa kelas II sekolah dasar sudah mulai mampu untuk berpikir aljabar dan terdapat kecenderungan respon siswa tertentu pada situasi-situasi yang diberikan. Desain didaktis awal direvisi untuk mengantisipasi learning obstacle dengan mengubah langkah pada beberapa situasi didaktis, memberikan catatan penting pada beberapa situasi yang tidak diubah, serta menambahkan pertanyaan untuk meminta siswa menuliskan aturan pola yang ditemukannya. Rekomendasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah uji coba desain lebih lanjut untuk menghasilkan desain yang lebih efektif. ;---Algebraic thinking is one of important thinking ability to have students. In elementary school, generalization of pattern can be developed for improving students’ algebraic thinking. This research aims to identify learning obstacles got student in developing algebraic thinking in elementary school, to make didactical design based on learning obstacles that were found, to implement didactical design, and to analyze implementation process so obtained didactical design revision as alternative didactical design. This research is a qualitative research with didactical design research that was conducted in two elementary school with 66 participants in preliminary research for finding learning obstacle and 37 participan in implementating didactical design. Data collection was done by tests, interviews, and observation. This result found that there were six learning obstacle faced by student were categorized into ontological obstacle, didactical obstacle, dan epistemological obstacle. Didactical design developed consisted of five lesson desain. From implementation of didactical design was showed that student 2 grade elementary school have started to be able algebraic thinking and there were a tendency for a particular response in a given situations. Didactical design was revised to anticipate learning obstacle by revising steps in some didactic situations, providing important notes in some unrevised situations, and adding questions to ask students to write the pattern rules they found. Recomendation for future research is to test the design further to produce a design that is more effective.
