Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang terjadi di kelas VIII B SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung yang ditemukan penulis pada saat melakukan observasi awal. Permasalahan tersebut diantaranya rendahnya kerjasama siswa, rendahnya empati siswa terhadap temannya, rendahnya solidaritas antar teman dan juga kurangnya sikap menghargai siswa. Penulis menganggap permasalahan tersebut kurangnya kecerdasan sosial siswa. Alternatif untuk memperbaiki permasalahan tersebut penulis menggunakan model Cooperative Learning tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) dalam pembelajaran IPS. Meninjau permasalahan tersebut berkaitan dengan pembelajaran, maka penulis memilih Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan M.C Tagart yang dilakukan dalam 3 siklus. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model Cooperative Learning tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan sosial siswa dapat dikatakan berhasil. Hal ini terlihat siswa sudah dapat bekerjasama dengan baik, kepedulian siswa sudah mulai meningkat, sikap saling menghargai sudah terjalin dan solidaritas di kelas VIII B sudah terjalin dengan baik. Pada penelitian ini setiap siklusnya mengalami peningkatan, pada siklus 1 memperoleh presentase 47%, siklus 2 memperoleh presentase 67%, dan pada siklus 3 memperoleh presentase 90%. Kesimpulannya, penerapan model Cooperative Learning tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan sosial siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di kelas VIII B SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung. ;--- The background of this study is the problems which occured at VII class, Pasundan 4 Junior High School Bandung. It found by pre observation. The problems are the low of collaboration performance among students, the low of empathy sense of students towards their friends, and the low of solidarity and appreciation between students. The author assumes that the problems was caused by the lack of social intelligence of students. The alternative to overcome the problems by using The Model of Cooperative Learning, type Team Games Tournament (TGT) in IPS learning. Considering the problems are related to learning, the author chose Classroom Action Reasearch (PTK) by Kemmis and M.C Tagart Models which conducted in 3 cycles. Learning through The Model of Cooperative Learning, type Team Games Tournament (TGT) to improve social intelligence of students seems to be successful. It reflects on the good collaboration between students, the improvement of students awareness, the appreciation between students is intertwined well, and the improvement of solidarity between students. There is improvements in each cycles, the first cycle obtained 47%, the second cycle obtained 67%, and the third cycle obtained 90%. In conclusion, the implementation of The Model of Cooperative Learning, type Team Games Tournament (TGT) is able to improve social intelligence of students at VII class, Pasundan 4 Junior High School Bandung.
