Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis pada siswa kelas IVA di salah satu Sekolah Dasar di Kota Bandung masih rendah. Hal ini ditandai dengan rendahnya hasil evaluasi siswa yang berada di bawah KKM. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dengan menggunakan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Metode penilitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan mengadaptasi milik Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IVA berjumlah 30 orang siswa. Hasil penelitian kegiatan menuliskan hal-hal yang diketahui dan ditanyakan pada siklus I yaitu 87%, siklus II 88% dan siklus III 98%. Kemudian kegiatan membuat rencana penyelesaian masalah pada siklus I yaitu 87%, siklus II 97% dan siklus III 99%. Selanjutnya kegiatan menyelesaikan rencana penyelesaian masalah pada siklus I yaitu 65%, siklus II 82% dan siklus III 82%. Selanjutnya kegiatan menuliskan kesimpulan pada siklus I yaitu 54%, siklus II 71% dan siklus III 76%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan CTL dalam pembelajaran di kelas IVA dapat meningkatkan pemecahan masalah matematis dan dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa dalam matematika. Maka pendekatan CTL dapat dijadikan pendekatan alternatif guru untuk meningkatkan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran. ;--- This research is motivated by the ability of solving mathematical problems grade IVA students in one elementary school in Bandung is still low. This is indicated by the low evaluation of students under the criteria. The purpose of this research is to improve students' mathematical problem solving ability using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach. This research method is a classroom action research adapting by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. This research was conducted three cycles. The subjects of the study were students of class IVA totaling 30 people. The results of the research activities write down the things that are known and asked in cycle I 87%, 88% cycle II and 98% cycle III. Then the activity to make problem solving plan in cycle I 87%, cycle II 97% and cycle III 99%. Furthermore, the activities completed the problem solving plan in cycle I 65%, 82% cycle II and 82% cycle III. Further activities write down the conclusions in cycle I 54%, cycle II 71% and cycle III 76%. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the application of CTL approach in IVA class learning can improve mathematical problem solving of students and affect learning outcomes in mathematics. It is expected that CTL approach can be used as an alternative teacher learning to improve students mathematical problem solving in learning.
