Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis di kelas V yang masih rendah. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata kelas V yaitu sebesar 52,17 dengan ketuntasan 34,8%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi mengenai proses pembelajaran dan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis kelas V dengan menerapkan strategi REACT (relating, experiencing, applying, cooperating, dan transferring). Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu sekolah dasar negeri yang berada di Kecamatan Sukasari Kota Bandung pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V B yang berjumlah 23 orang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan model adaptasi dari Kemmis dan Mc Taggart sebanyak tiga siklus. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari lembar observasi dan lembar tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas pada siklus I sebesar 73,5 dengan ketuntasan 87%. Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata kelas menjadi 84,9 dengan ketuntasan 95,7%. Pada siklus III nilai rata-rata kelas 87,7 dengan ketuntasan 100%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menerapkan strategi REACT dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep.;---This research is motivated by the 5th grade students’ low ability in understanding mathematical concept. It is shown by the average score of the 5th grade students which is only 52.17 with mastery 34.8%. This study aims to obtain a description of learning process and the improvement of the 5th grade students’ ability in understanding mathematical concept by applying REACT strategy (relating, experiencing, applying, cooperating, and transferring). This study was conducted in one of elementary schools located in Kecamatan Sukasari, Kota Bandung, in academic year 2016/2017. The subjects of this study are 23 students of class V B. The research method used (in this study) is The Classroom Action Research (CAR) with adaptation model from Kemmis and McTaggart which consists of three cycles/ The Classroom Action Research (CAR) is used as the research method (in this study) with adaptation model from Kemmis and McTaggart which consists of three cycle. The data was collected from the observation sheet and the concept comprehension test sheet. The result found that the average score in the first cycle is 73.5 with mastery 87%. In the second cycle, the average score 84.9 with mastery 95.7%. In the third cycle, the average score 86.7 wisth mastery 100%. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that learning by applying REACT strategy can improve the ability of concept comprehension.
