Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tingkat kompetensi guru dan tingkat pengetahuan awal siswa terhadap tingkat motivasi belajar serta implikasinya terhadap hasil belajar ekonomi siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Ekonomi di SMA Negeri Kota Bandung. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini yaitu, kompetensi guru, pengetahuan awal siswa, dan motivasi belajar merupakan faktor-faktor penentu hasil belajar yang memiliki pengaruh positif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey dengan populasi penelitian seluruh siswa kelas XI IPS SMA Negeri Kota Bandung yang berjumlah 3.907 siswa yang tersebar di 27 sekolah. Sedangkan sampel pada penelitian ini diambil sebanyak 363 siswa dari 4 (empat) sekolah yang mewakili setiap cluster SMA di Kota Bandung. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: kompetensi guru Ekonomi di SMA Negeri Kota Bandung termasuk dalam kategori tinggi, demikian juga pengetahuan awal, motivasi belajar, dan hasil belajar ekonomi siswa kelas XI IPS di SMA Negeri Kota Bandung termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi guru berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar, namun pengetahuan awal siswa tidak berpengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar. Selain itu, kompetensi guru berpengaruh langsung terhadap hasil belajar, namun kompetensi guru tidak memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung terhadap hasil belajar melalui motivasi. Pengetahuan awal siswa tidak memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung terhadap hasil belajar melalui motivasi, tetapi pengetahuan awal siswa berpengaruh langsung terhadap hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan motivasi belajar tidak berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar. Kata Kunci: Hasil Belajar, Kompetensi Guru, Pengetahuan Awal Siswa, Motivasi Belajar This study aims to determine the effect of teacher’s competence level and student’s prior knowledge level to the student’s learning motivation level and implications to student’s economics learning outcomes. This research was conducted because of the low student’s learning outcomes in subjects Economics in SMA Negeri Bandung City. The hypothesis of this study, namely, teacher’s competence, student’s prior knowledge, and learning motivation are the determinants of learning outcomes which have a positive influence. This study uses survey method with the study population is class of XI IPS SMA Negeri Bandung City, amounting to 3,907 students in 27 schools. While the sample in this study were taken as many as 363 students from 4 (four) schools representing each cluster of SMA Negeri in Bandung City. Data were analyzed using path analysis. The results showed that: teacher’s competence in Economics at SMA Negeri Bandung City included in the high category, as well as student’s prior knowledge, learning motivation, and learning outcomes of economic class XI IPS in SMA Negeri Bandung City included in the high category. The results also showed that the teacher’s competence can affect learning motivation, but the student’s prior knowledge does not affect learning motivation. Moreover, the teacher’s competence direct effect on learning outcomes, but the teacher’s competence do not have an indirect effect on learning outcomes through learning motivation. Student’s prior knowledge do not have an indirect effect on learning outcomes through learning motivation, but student’s prior knowledge direct effect on learning outcomes.
