Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa dan fakta rendahnya kemampuan penalaran siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) untuk mengetahui apakah peningkatan kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual) lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional, 2) untuk mengetahui sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control grup design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP Negeri di kota Bandung, sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah dua kelas dari populsi tersebut yang memiliki kemampuan yang relatif sama. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa, angket dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) Peningkatan kemampuan penalaran adaptif siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual) lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional, 2) Siswa memberikan sikap positif terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan model pembelajaran SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual). Kata kunci: Kemampuan Penalaran Adaptif, Model Pembelajaran SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual). The background of this research was to study the importance of the student adaptive reasoning ability and the low students reasoning ability’s fact. The purpose of this study were: 1) to finding out whether the enhancement of students adaptive reasoning ability who acquire SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual) learning model is better than students who received Conventional learning model, 2) to finding out students’ attitudes toward mathematics learning using SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual) learning model. The method used in this research was a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students in grade VIII of SMP Negeri in Bandung, while the sample in this study were two classes of the population who have relatively equal ability. The research data obtained through students adaptive reasoning ability test, questionnaire and observation sheet. The results showed that: 1) the improvement of reasoning adaptive ability students who acquire the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual) learning model is better than the students who acquire learning by using conventional learning model, 2) The students gave positive attitude towards learning mathematics with SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual) learning model.
