Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan berpikir kreatif matematik serta kemandirian belajar siswa dengan pembelajaran pendekatan Hands-On Activity. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonrandomized Control Group, Pretest-Postest Design. Adapun yang menjadi populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPN 4 Banjarmasin dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 67 siswa. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes dan angket. Tes kemampuan pemahaman dan berpikir kreatif matematik diberikan pada awal dan akhir pembelajaran. Angket kemandirian belajar diberikan pada akhir pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: bahwa 1) peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan berpikir kreatif matematik siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Hands-On Activity lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau secara keseluruhan; 2) peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematik siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Hands-On Activity tidak lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan matematis awal tinggi; 3) peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematik siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Hands-On Activity lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan matematis awal sedang dan rendah; 4) peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematik siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Hands-On Activity lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan matematis awal tinggi; 5) peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematik siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Hands-On Activity lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan matematis awal sedang dan rendah; 6) kemandirian belajar siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan Hands-On Activity tidak lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. ; The objective of this research is to examine the enhancement of student’s mathematical understanding and creative thinking ability, self regulated learning using Hands-On Activity approach. This research is included in quasy experimental research with Nonrandomized Control Group, Pretest-Posttest Design. Population of this research is all students of seventh grade in SMPN 4 Banjarmasin which the sample of this research is 67 students. The data was acquired through test and questionnaire. Test of mathematical understanding and creative thinking ability was given at the beginning and the end of learning. Self regulated learning questionnaire was given at the end of learning. The results of this research showed that: 1) student’s enhancement of mathematical understanding and creative thinking ability who was taught by Hands-On Activity approach learning is higher than student who was taught by conventional learning; 2) student’s enhancement of mathematical understanding ability who was taught by Hands-On Activity approach learning is not higher than student who was taught by conventional learning from aspect of initial mathematical ability for high; 3) student’s enhancement of mathematical understanding who was taught by Hands-On Activity approach learning is higher than student who was taught by conventional learning from aspect of initial mathematical ability for medium and low; 4) student’s enhancement of mathematical creative thinking ability who was taught by Hands-On Activity approach learning is higher than student who was taught by conventional learning from aspect of initial mathematical ability for high; 5) student’s enhancement of mathematical creative thinking ability who was taught by Hands-On Activity approach learning is higher than student who was taught by conventional learning from aspect of initial mathematical ability for medium and low; 6)student’s self regulated learning who was taught by Hands-On Activity approach learning is not higher than student who was taught by conventional learning.
