Abstract
Penelitian ini berkenaan dengan penerapan metode eksperimen untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa SD pada mata pelajaran IPA. Subjek penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas IV SDN M 4 Kota Cimahi yang berjumlah 23 orang. Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode eksperimen untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Secara khusus, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen, pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen, serta untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan model spiral yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi dan tes, instumen penelitiannya berupa lembar observasi dan lembar tes. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: penerapan metode eksperimen dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDN M Kota Cimahi. Keberhasilan tersebut ditunjang oleh RPP yang disusun oleh peneliti. RPP yang disusun oleh peneliti sistematikanya tidak berbeda dengan RPP yang dibuat oleh guru, perbedaannya terletak pada kegiatan initinya. Dalam pembelajaran, aktivitas siswa menjadi meningkat di ataranya siswa dapat melakukan: merumuskan masalah, merumuskan hipotesis, bertanya, observasi, menjawab dan menyimpulkan. Hasil belajar siswa pun meningkat, pada prasiklus siswa yang lulus KKM sebanyak 21,7%, pada siklus 1 sebanyak 56,8%, pada siklus 2 sebanyak 65,8%, dan pada siklus 3 sebanyak 80,4%. Saran berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas sebaiknya pembagian kelompok dilakukan oleh guru dan dilakukan secara acak sehingga tidak memakan waktu yang lama. This research with regard to the application of the experimental method to enhance the activity and learning outcomes of primary school students in science subjects. The Subject of this research is taken from 23 people from the fourth grade students of SDN M 4 Cimahi. This research generally aimed to describe the application of experimental method in order to enhance the activity and student learning outcomes. Specifically, this research aims to describe the implementation plan of learning science by using experimental methods, implementation of learning by applying experimental method, and investigates the improvement of student learning outcomes. The method used in this research is a classroom action research with the spiral model developed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart. Data was collected by using observation and tests, research instrument in the form of observation sheets and test sheets. The research findings show that: implementation of the experimental method can increase the activity and results of students of class IV SDN M Cimahi. This successful result is supported by RPP compiled by the researcher. RPP compiled by the researcher have no differences in systematic method from the one made by a teacher, the only difference lies in main activities. In learning, student activities had increased these including students can: formulate problems, formulate hypotheses, ask questions, making observations, answer questions and conclude. The results of student learning outcome are increasing, at pre cycle students who graduated KKM as much as 21.7% in cycle 1 as much as 56.8% in cycle 2 as much as 65.8%, and in cycle 3 as much as 80.4%. Suggestions based on the results of this research are a classroom action research division of groups should be done by teacher and carried out randomly so it does not take a long time.
