Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas efektivitas model pembelajaran Concept Sentence dengan media Flash Card untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Perancis mahasiswa semester I Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI Tahun Akademik 2015/2016. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Perancis mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence dengan media Flash Card; (2) menguji tingkat efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence dengan media Flash Card dalam upaya meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa; dan (3) memperoleh informasi tentang pendapat mahasiswa berkaitan dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence dengan media Flash Card dalam pembelajaran berbicara bahasa Perancis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pra-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one group pretest-posttest. Sedangkan peneliti menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data, yaitu studi pustaka, tes, angket, dan observasi. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah karakteristik keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa semester I Departemen Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI Tahun Akademik 2015/2016. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 35 karateristik keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa semester I. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 7,21 dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 8,33 dan diubah ke dalam skala sepuluh nilai pretest menjadi 7 (cukup) dan nilai posttest menjadi nilai 8 (baik). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, peneliti dapat menyatakan bahwa keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa mengalami peningkatan. Selanjutnya berdasarkan perhitungan statistik, peneliti memperoleh nilai t-hitung sebesar 11,52 dan nilai t-tabel dengan taraf signifikan 1% serta derajat kebebasan (d.b) 34 sebesar 2,44. Jadi, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence dengan media Flash Card ini efektif dalam upaya meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Perancis. Hasil angket menunjukkan sebagian besar mahasiswa berpendapat bahwa keterampilan berbicara mereka meningkat setelah pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Perancis dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence dengan media Flash Card. Mahasiswa juga merasa senang dan tertarik dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran Concept Sentence dengan media Flash Card. Dengan demikian, peneliti memberikan saran bagi peneliti selanjutnya untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran concept sentence ini yang dipadukan dengan sebuah media pembelajaran atau teknik permainan lainnya untuk diterapkan pada aspek keterampilan bahasa yang lainnya. Kata Kunci: Efektivitas, Model Pembelajaran Concept Sentence, Keterampilan Berbicara, Bahasa Perancis This study investigates the effectiveness of the learning model Concept Sentence by the media Flash Card to enhance the skills of speaking French the student first semester of French Department of Education, Academic Year 2015/2016 FPBS UPI. This study aims at (1) describing student’s skills to speak French before and after used a learning model concept sentence by a media flash card; (2) testing the effectiveness of using a learning model concept sentence by a media flash card on afford to improve the student’s ability to speak French; (3) obtaining many information about student’s opinion regarding the use of learning model concept sentence by a media flash card the process of French learning. This study uses a method of Pre-Experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. Then the techniques to collect the data are tests, questionnaires, and observation. The population of this study is the characteristics of the French language speaking skills of students on first semester of French Department of Education, Academic Year 2015/2016 FPBS UPI. The samples are 35 characteristics of French language speaking skills of students on first semester. The result of this study show an average score of student’s pretest is 7,21 and the average score of the student’s post-test is 8,33 to changing into a scale of ten , the score of student’s pretest is 7 (enough)and score of student’s post-test 8 (good). Based on these results, the researchers can declare that the student’s ability to speak French has increased. Based on statistical calculations, it is obtained the value of t-count is 11.52 and that obtained the value t-table with significance level 1 % and the free degree (d.b) of 34 is 2.44. So, the results show that the use a learning model Concept Sentence by a media Flash Card is considered effective to improve student’s speaking ability in French. The questionnaire results showed most students found their vocabulary increased after learning by using learning model Concept Sentence with a media Flash Card. Students are also excited and interested in learning speaking skills by using learning model Concept Sentence with a media Flash Card. Therefore, the researchers gave suggestions for further research to develop a learning model concept sentence is paired with a other instructional media or a game techniques for applied on other aspects of language skills, such as writing skills.
