Abstract
Dewasa ini metode pembelajaran di sekolah terus berkembang untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan yang baik karena baiknya suatu negara ditentukan salah satunya oleh kualitas pendidikan. Metode pembelajaran yang baik dapat menghasilkan kualitas pendidikan yang baik. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode pembelajaran peer teaching untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa mengenai kompetensi pengenalan dan pengoperasian alat sipat datar pada mata diklat ilmu ukur tanah di SMK N 2 Tasikmalaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) memperoleh gambaran proses penerapan metode pembelajaran peer teaching dan demonstrasi pada mata diklat ilmu ukur tanah, 2) mengetahui hasil belajar siswa pada mata diklat ilmu ukur tanah setelah diterapkan metode pembelajaran peer teaching dan demonstrasi, 3) mengetahui terdapat atau tidaknya perbedaan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa antara kelas yang diterapkan metode pembelajaran peer teaching dengan kelas yang diterapkan metode pembelajaran demonstrasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Desain yang dipilih adalah Quasi Experimen atau eksperimen semu dengan bentuk Nonequivalent Control Group Design yaitu penelitian yang menggunakan kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah tes yang terdiri atas pretest untuk tes awal, posttest untuk tes akhir dan lembar observasi untuk acuan dalam menerapkan metode pembelajaran. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 62 siswa dari jumlah populasi 97 siswa kelas X Gambar Bangunan SMK N 2 Tasikmalaya. Temuan pada penelitian ini adalah penggunaan metode pembelajaran peer teaching dapat membantu guru untuk menyelesaikan tugasnya ketika materi pelajaran yang harus disampaikan terlalu banyak serta membantu mencapai ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa, terbukti dari hasil belajar siswa di kelas yang menggunakan metode peer teaching lebih tinggi daripada kelas yang menggunakan metode demonstrasi. Somehow, the quality of nation is influenced by its good quality education. The proper learning method is resulted in the good quality education. In this research applied learning methods of peer teaching to improve the students’ learning outcomes about competenty of identifcation and operation optical level in Land Surveying Course at SMK N 2 Tasikmalaya. This researh aimed at 1) obtaining the descripstion of process about implementted learning methods peer teaching and demonstrasi in land surveying course, 2) finding out the students’ learning outcomes in land surveying course after applied peer teaching method and demonstration, 3) finding out the different results between class which applied learning method of peer teaching and learning method of demonstration. This research use quantitatif methode. Design Quasi Experimen with shape design Nonequivalent Control Group Design that is a research which consist of class control and class experiment. The instrument for collecting the data consists of pretest for the first test, posttest for the last test and observation sheet as the refference to the learning method. The sample used for research includes 62 people out of the population of 97 students of 10th grade of Architecture at SMK N 2 Tasikmalaya. The findings in this research show that the use of peer teacing method helped the teachers to deliver lots of the subject matter and helped the student to acquire the thoroughness of learning outcomes. It is proven by higher learning outcomes of the students whose class applied peer teaching method rather than the class which applied demonstration method.
