Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan dalam tesis ini adalah mengkaji struktur, konteks, nilai, dan fungsi berdasarkan teks legenda Nyi Mas Gandasari yang berada di Kabupaten Cirebon. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari alternatif sumber bahan ajar apresiasi sastra yang memiliki kesesuaian dan kebermaknaan untuk siswa SMA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam tesis ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalampenelitian ini, yaitu observasi, angket, dan wawancara. Hal yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini adalah struktur teks Nyi Mas Gandasari, meliputi unsur alur, tokoh dan penokohan, latar, dan tema. Selain struktur, dianalisis pula konteks penuturan, nilai, dan fungsi yang terdapat dalam teks legenda tersebut. Temuan hasil penelitian ini meliputi: (1) struktur legenda Nyi Mas Gandasari dilihat dari segi alur adalah alur maju; berdasarkan analisis tokoh dan penokohan didominasi oleh tokoh protagonis; berdasarkan analisis latar waktu ditemukan secara eksplisit pada varian I dan II, analisis latar tempat yang dominan dari ketiga varian yaitu berada di Negeri Cirebon; (2) analisis konteks terdapat konteks budaya dan konteks situasi; (3) analisis nilai terdapat nilai religius, kejujuran, disiplin, kerja keras, kemandirian, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/komunikatif, sosial, dan tanggung jawab; (4) analisis fungsi terdapat fungsi sistem proyeksi, sebagai pengendali sosial, sebagai pengesahan budaya, sebagai alat pendidikan, dan hiburan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut dibuatlah contoh pemanfaatan teks legenda Nyi Mas Gandasari sebagai bahan ajar apresiasi sastra dalam bentuk modul. Research conducted in this thesis is the study of the structure, context, values, and functions based on the legend text of Nyi Mas Gandasari located in Cirebon. The aim of this study was to find alternative sources of literature appreciation teaching materials that have relevance and significance for senior high school students.The method used in this thesis is a qualitative research. Data collection techniques used in research, namely observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The analyzed in this study is the text structure Nyi Mas Gandasari, includes elements of plot, character and characterization, setting, and theme. In addition to the structure, also analyzed the narrative context, values and functions contained in the text of the legend. The findings of this study include: (1) the structure of legend Nyi Mas Gandasari in terms of the flow is advanced groove; based on the analysis of the characters and characterizations are dominated by the protagonist; based on a background analysis found explicitly in variants I and II, where the dominant background analysis of the third variant that is in Cirebon State; (2) there is a context analysis of the cultural context and the context of the situation; (3) analysis of the value contained religious values, honesty, discipline, hard work, self-reliance, democratic, curiosity, respect for the achievements, friends/ communicative, social, and responsibility; (4) analysis functions are functions of a projection system, as social control, as a validation of culture, as a means of education, and entertainment. Based on the results of the analysis made examples of the use of text legend Nyi Mas Gandasari as literature appreciation teaching materials in the form of modules.
