Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang pengaruh penerapan model ICARE terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan kognitif siswa SMK. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental dengan desain penelitian one-group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas X Teknik Sepeda Motor (TSM) yang dipilih menggunakan metode Convenience Sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur pengaruh penerapan model ICARE terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan kemampuan kognitif siswa, dan lembar observasi untuk keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model ICARE mempengaruhi keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan nilai effect size sebesar 2,71 dengan kategori sangat besar dan meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0,29 dengan kategori rendah. Penerapan model ICARE juga mempengaruhi kemampuan kognitif dengan nilai effect size sebesar 4,73 dengan kategori sangat besar dan meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dengan rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0,66 dengan kategori sedang Hasil-hasil ini menunjukkan potensi model ICARE sebagai salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat mempengaruhi dan meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan kognitif siswa. ---------- The purpose of this research is to get the description about the influence of the icare model aplication to the critical thinking skills and cognitive abilities of vocational students. The research method used was pre-experimental with one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample was class X Motorcycle Engineering (TSM) were selected using convenience sampling method. The data collected by pretest and posttest to measure the influence of the icare model aplication to the critical thinking skills and cognitive abilities of students, and observation sheet. The result of the research shows that the application of ICARE model influences the critical thinking skills with the effect size value 2,71 in huge category and increase the thinking skills with N-gain avarage 0,29 in low category. The application of ICARE model influences the cognitive abilities with the effect size value 4,73 in huge category and increase the cognitive abilities with N-gain avarage 0,66 in medium category. It can be concluded that ICARE model as one of learning model that can affect and improve students’ critical thinking skills and students’ cognitive abilities.
