Abstract

Informasi mengenai profil konsistensi representasi dan konsistensi ilmiah siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung belum diketahui. Padahal kedua kemampuan ini sangat penting dimiliki siswa. Konsistensi representasi dan konsistensi ilmiah berkaitan dengan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan siswa dalam menggunakan multi representasi. Penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil konsistensi representasi dan konsistensi ilmiah siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survey dengan memberikan tes pada siswa setelah terlaksananya proses pembelajaran. Ukuran sampel ditentukan berdasarkan rumus Isaac dan Michael dengan populasi seluruh siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung kelas X yang telah mempelajari materi kinematika gerak lurus. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan di tiga SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung yang masing-masing mewakili sekolah cluster tinggi, cluster sedang, dan cluster rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari tujuh tema dimana pada setiap tema terdapat empat soal isomorfik (konteks dan kontennya sama) dengan representasi berbeda. Dari 395 siswa yang dijadikan sampel penelitian ditemukan bahwa untuk kategori konsistensi representasi 34% siswa berada pada tingkat konsisten, 29% cukup konsisten, dan 36% tidak konsisten. Sedangkan untuk konsistensi ilmiah ditemukan bahwa 13% siswa konsisten, 25% cukup konsisten, dan 62% tidak konsisten. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun sudah memiliki kemampuan dalam menggunakan multi representasi, sebagian besar siswa masih belum memahami konsep fisika dengan benar. Namun ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara konsistensi representasi dengan konsistensi ilmiah, yang berarti semakin siswa memahami representasi, semakin bertambah pula pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep. In fact, both of these capabilities is very important to have. Representational consistency and scientific consistency related with understanding the concept and the student's ability to use multiple representations. A descriptive study aimed to find profile of representational consistency and scientific consistency state high school students in Bandung. The method used is a survey method with a test for the students after implementation of the learning process. The sample size is determined based on the formula Isaac and Michael with the entire student population of high schools in Bandung class X who has studied the kinematics of motion in one dimension. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. Data were collected in three state high schools in Bandung, which each represent high school cluster, cluster medium, and low cluster. The instrument used consisted of seven theme which in each theme there are four questions isomorphic (same context and content) with different representation. From 395 samples of the research, it found that 34% of students are consistent for representational consistency category, 29% are moderately consistent, and 36% are inconsistent. As for the scientific consistency, it found that 13% of students are consistent, 25% are moderately consistent, and 62% are inconsistent. These results indicate that although it already has the ability to use multiple representations, most students still do not understand the concepts of physics properly. However, it was found a significant relationship between representational consistency and scientific consistency, which means that the more students understand the representation, the more students' understand the concept anyway.
