Abstract
Skripsi ini berjudul “Peningkatan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Melalui Media Poster Dalam Pembelajaran IPS (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, di Kelas VIII-B SMPN 29 Bandung)”. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan utama yaitu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui poster sebagai media pembelajaran IPS. Teori berpikir kritis menurut Ennis, Benjamin Bloom, dan Glaser serta Teori media poster menurut Sudjana dan Rivai, Ahmad Rohani. Peneliti menggunakan media pembelajaran berupa poster untuk meningkatkan berpikir kritis berkolaborasi dengan guru mitra. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan desain Kammis dan Taggert dengan tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi di kelas VIII-B SMPN 29 Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data yang diambil yaitu observasi, wawancara, catatan lapangan, dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tindakan kelas, penggunaan media poster sebagai media pembelajaran berhasil meningkatkan berpikir kritis siswa dengan merancang pembelajaran, melaksanakan pembelajaran, menyelesaikan kendala dan solusi pada peningkatan berpikir kritis sesuai indikator melalui media poster dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas VIII-B SMPN 29 Bandung. Keberhasilan penelitian ini, terlihat dari hasil pelaksanaan penelitian yang dilakukan selama tiga siklus, siswa sudah mampu membuat poster dan mengkritisi menghubungkan materi dalam pembelajaran IPS. Dengan demikian, penggunaan poster sebagai media pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan berpikir kritis. ---------- The title of the study is “The Enhancement of Students’ Critical Thinking Skills through Poster Media in Social Studies (A Classroom Action Research at Class VIII-B SMPN 29 Bandung)”. The study aimed at improving students’ critical thinking skills through posters as the primary media. The theories of critical thinking analysis framed by Ennis, Benjamin Bloom, and Glaser were employed in the study as well as the theories of poster analysis framed by Ahmad Rohani, Sudjana and Rivai. Thus, the writer used posters as the media in order to improve critical thinking skills along with the help from the supervisor. The methodology used in the study was classroom action research design by Kennia and Taggert including planning, conducting, observation, and reflection stages at Class VIII-B SMPN 29 Bandung. The data were collected by conducting observation, interview, field notes, and documentation study. The results showed that the use of posters improves students’ critical thinking skills in social studies by planning, conducting, and problem-solving based on the indicator of critical thinking improvement. It can be seen in the three cycles of research that students were able to create posters and think critically regarding the social studies. Therefore, the use of posters as the media of social studies can improve students’ critical thinking skills.
