Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji masalah peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sebelum dan setelah memperoleh pembelajaran the firing line dan konvensional, serta melihat disposisi matematis setelah pembelajaran the firing line. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experimental dengan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen dan populasi siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 7 Padang. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelas yang dipilih secara purporsif yaitu kelas kontrol yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional dan kelas eksperimen yang memperoleh pembelajaran the firing line. Instrumen pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini ialah instrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan skala disposisi matematis. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji perbedaan rataan dua kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; (1) peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran the firing line lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, (2) disposisi matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran the firing line berbeda dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Kata Kunci : The Firing Line, Kemampuan Komunikasi dan Disposisi Matematis. The purposes of this research were to improve the ability of students in mathematical communication which they get Firing Line learning, and assessing the improvement of students’ mathematical disposition after apply the Firing Line and conventional learning. This research is a quasi experiment with design group control non-equivalent. The population of this research is class VIII SMP which one of the junior school in Padang. The class selected as a control group who obtain conventional learning and the other classes as the experimental group gained the firing line learning. The instrument used to collect data in this study consisted of test, scale mathematical disposition, and observation sheets.Then, test will be analysed with the SPSS 17. The results of this research are, (1)the ability of student’s mathematical communication who get the Firing Line learning is better than students who get conventional learning, (2) the students’s mathematical disposition who get the Firing Line is better than students who get conventional learning.
