    Abstract

    Literasi matematis merupakan suatu kemampuan seseorang yang berkaitan dengan kegiatan matematis yakni merumuskan, menggunakan dan menafsirkan matematika dalam upaya memecahkan masalah matematis dalam berbagai situasi di dunia nyata. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi matematis ditinjau dari adversity quotient, serta pengaruh adversity quotient terhadap literasi matematis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode pendekatan fenomenologi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP di kota Bandung yang sudah mempelajari materi pola bilangan. Hasil penelitian yaitu, siswa yang memiliki adversity quotient selalu merasa mampu memecahkan masalah matematis, tidak mudah menyerah dan dapat memenuhi beberapa indikator. Siswa yang memiliki adversity quotient sedang tidak selalu dapat memecahkan permasalahan yang diberikan, cenderung mudah menyerah, dan dapat memenuhi satu indikator saja. Siswa yang memiliki adversity quotient rendah selalu mudah menyerah, dan tidak dapat memenuhi indikator. Mathematical literacy is a person’s ability related to mathematical activities, namely formulating, using, and interpreting mathematics in an effort to solve mathematical problems in various real-world situations. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine mathematical literacy ability in terms of adversity quotient, as well as to analyze the influence of adversity quotient on mathematical literacy. This study uses a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach. The subjects in this study were eight-grade students at a junior high school in Bandung who had studied number patterns. The study’s finding indicate that students with a high adversity quotient always feel capable of solving mathematical problems, do not give up easly, and can meet several indicators. Students with a medium adversity quotient cannot always solve the given problems, tend to give up easily, and only meet one indicator. In contrast, students with a low adversity quotient always give up easily, and cannot meet the indicators.
