Abstract
Pembelajaran konsep jaringan yang abstrak seperti Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) pada mata pelajaran Administrasi Infrastruktur Jaringan sering menjadi tantangan konseptual bagi siswa SMK, yang dapat menghambat pengembangan kemampuan berpikir komputasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan dan menganalisis efektivitas metode pembelajaran Computer Science Unplugged dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir komputasi siswa pada materi VLAN. Menggunakan desain pre-experimental dengan rancangan one-group pretest-posttest, penelitian ini melibatkan 35 siswa kelas XI TJKT di SMK Negeri 1 Cikalongkulon. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir komputasi dan kuesioner skala Likert untuk mengukur tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya kenaikan nilai rata-rata dari 56,4 pada pretest menjadi 66 pada posttest. Meskipun demikian, skor N-Gain yang diperoleh sebesar 0,17 berada dalam kategori "Rendah", mengindikasikan bahwa peningkatan tersebut belum optimal secara statistik. Di sisi lain, hasil kuesioner menunjukkan tanggapan siswa yang sangat positif terhadap metode pembelajaran, dengan skor rata-rata 78,3% (kriteria "Sangat Baik"). Disimpulkan bahwa metode Computer Science Unplugged sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan keterlibatan dan diterima dengan baik oleh siswa sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran yang interaktif, namun belum cukup untuk menghasilkan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir komputasi yang substansial dalam lingkup penelitian ini. Learning abstract networking concepts, such as Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) in the Network Infrastructure Administration subject, often poses a conceptual challenge for vocational high school students, which can hinder the development of their computational thinking skills. This study aims to implement and analyze the effectiveness of the Computer Science Unplugged learning method in enhancing students' computational thinking skills on the VLAN topic. Using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest model, this research involved 35 11th-grade TJKT major students at SMK Negeri 1 Cikalongkulon. The instruments included a multiple-choice test to measure computational thinking skills and a Likert-scale questionnaire to assess student responses. The results indicated an increase in the mean score from 56.4 on the pretest to 66 on the posttest. However, the obtained N-Gain score of 0.17 was classified in the "Low" category, indicating that the improvement was not statistically optimal. On the other hand, the questionnaire results revealed a very positive student response to the learning method, with an average score of 78.3% ("Very Good" criterion). It is concluded that while the Computer Science Unplugged method is highly effective in increasing engagement and is well-received by students as an interactive learning approach, it was not sufficient to produce a substantial improvement in computational thinking skills within the scope of this research.
