    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik terhadap materi bangun ruang kubus dan balok di Sekolah Dasar Fase A. Peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam menyatakan ulang konsep, mengklasifikasikan objek, serta memberikan contoh dan non-contoh dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Idealnya, peserta didik memerlukan alat bantu konkret untuk memahami materi geometri, namun keterbatasan sarana dan media pembelajaran di sekolah menyebabkan proses pembelajaran kurang efektif dan menurunkan minat belajar. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah penggunaan media semi konkret seperti Pop Up Book. Media ini menyajikan ilustrasi tiga dimensi yang menarik dan interaktif, sehingga membantu mengubah konsep abstrak menjadi lebih konkret. Selain itu, Pop Up Book dinilai mampu meningkatkan pemahaman belajar karena visualisasi yang ditampilkan dapat menumbuhkan imajinasi dan partisipasi aktif peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan media Pop Up Book dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini ialah metode kuantitatif pre-experiment dengan desain one group pre-test post-test design. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas II dengan jumlah sample sebanyak 30 peserta didik di salah satu SD di Kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media Pop Up Book secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik, yang ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan skor rata-rata pre test sebesar 49.00 menjadi 80.33 pada post test. Selain itu, media Pop Up Book juga mampu meningkatkan minat dan keterlibatan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran. Nilai signifikan dari penelitian ini yaitu sebesar 65% yang termasuk dalam kriteria cukup efektif. Dengan demikian, media Pop Up Book efektif digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis pada materi bangun ruang kubus dan balok di Sekolah Dasar. This research is motivated by the low understanding of mathematical concepts among students regarding the material on cubes and rectangular block in Elementary School Phase A. Students experience difficulty in restating concepts, classifying objects, and providing examples and non-examples in everyday life. Ideally, students need concrete aids to understand geometry concepts, but the limited learning resources and media in schools make the learning process less effective and reduce interest in learning. One solution that can be implemented is the use of semi-concrete media such as Pop-Up Books. This media presents interesting and interactive three-dimensional illustrations, thus helping to transform abstract concepts into something more concrete. Additionally, Pop Up Books are considered capable of enhancing learning comprehension because the displayed visualizations can foster imagination and active participation among students. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using Pop Up Books in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The research method used in this study is a quantitative pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-test post-test design. The participants in this study were second-grade students, with a sample size of 30 students from an elementary school in Bandung City. The research results indicate that using Pop Up Books significantly improves students' mathematical concept understanding abilities, as evidenced by anincrease in the average pre-test score from 49.00 to 80.33 on the post-test. Additionally, pop-up books can also increase students' interest and engagement in learning. The significance value of this research is 65%, which falls into the fairly effective criteria. Thus, the Pop Up Book media is effectively used as an alternative learning medium to improve understanding of mathematical concepts in the cube and block solid geometry material in Elementary School.
