Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi keberagaman budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas media KIRANA untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep materi keberagaman budaya pada siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. Salah satunya disebabkan oleh kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang mengeksplorasi pemahaman konsep siswa. Pada pembelajaran IPAS metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pre-eksperimental dengan one group pre-test posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar yang berada di Kecamatan Japara. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV di salah satu sekolah dasarn yang berada di Kecamatan Japara sebanyak 26 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes pre-test dan post-test berbentuk soal uraian berjumlah 8 butir soal berdasarkan indikator pemahaman konsep materi keberagaman budaya. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji perbedaan rerata untuk melihat tingkat efektivitas dari penggunaan media KIRANA. Berdasarkan uji perbedaan rerata, diperoleh hasil yang signifikan sehingga H₁ diterima, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Selain itu, peningkatan pemahaman konsep pada materi keberagaman budaya melalui media KIRANA dibuktikan dengan N-Gain yang termasuk kategori tinggi, serta tingkat keefektifan berada pada kategori cukup efektif. Dengan demikian, media KIRANA terbukti cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. This study was motivated by the low level of students' conceptual understanding of cultural diversity. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the KIRANA media in improving students' conceptual understanding of cultural diversity in fourth grade elementary school. One of the reasons for this is the lack of use of learning media that explore students' conceptual understanding. In IPAS learning, the research method used was pre-experimental with a one-group pre-test post-test design. The population in this study was fourth-grade elementary school students in Japara District. The sample in this study was 26 fourth-grade students from one public elementary school in Japara District. The instruments used were pre-test and post-test instruments in the form of 8 essay questions based on indicators of conceptual understanding of cultural diversity material. Data analysis used a mean difference test to assess the effectiveness of the KIRANA media. Based on the mean difference test, significant results were obtained, leading to the acceptance of H₁, indicating a significant difference. Additionally, the improvement in conceptual understanding of cultural diversity material through the KIRANA media was evidenced by an N-Gain score in the high category, and the effectiveness level was in the moderately effective category. Thus, the KIRANA media was proven to be moderately effective in enhancing students' conceptual understanding.
