Abstract
Introduction: Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (CHLB) is an important preventive effort implemented since elementary school age to prevent disease transmission, especially those caused by poor PHBS. Objective: This study aimed to measure and analyze the most influential factors, namely the role of parents, the role of teachers, and health promotion media in the implementation of PHBS of elementary school students. Research Methods: This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 476 4th and 5th grade students in three public elementary schools in Sukabumi City. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Chi-Square test and logistic regression. Results and Discussion: Students who received a good role from parents had a 2.91 times greater chance of implementing good PHBS, a good teacher role had a 2.11 times chance, and students who were exposed to health promotion media had a 3.63 times greater chance of implementing good PHBS. The results of the logistic regression test showed that the role of parents was the most influential factor in the implementation of PHBS for elementary school students with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The contradiction of the three factors is because students spend most of their time at home with parents, so parents have a greater chance as educators, role models, motivators, facilitators, and supervisors in the implementation of PHBS of elementary school students. Conclusion: The role of parents has a very significant influence on the implementation of PHBS of elementary school students, followed by the role of teachers, and health promotion media has no significant effect on the implementation of PHBS of elementary school students.
