Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan aplikasi Canva dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) untuk melatih karakter peduli sosial pada siswa sekolah dasar. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif fenomenologi, yang berfokus pada pengalaman langsung dan pemahaman mendalam terhadap praktik penggunaan Canva oleh guru dan dampaknya terhadap karakter siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Canva digunakan sebagai alat bantu untuk menyajikan materi pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menarik seperti pembuatan poster maupun komik. Guru memainkan peran penting sebagai fasilitator dalam membimbing siswa menggunakan Canva untuk menggali isu-isu sosial seperti lingkungan, toleransi, dan tanggung jawab sosial. Implementasi ini mendorong siswa untuk berpikir kritis, bekerja sama dalam kelompok, dan mengekspresikan empati terhadap isu sosial. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi keberhasilan implementasi meliputi kesiapan guru dalam menguasai teknologi, motivasi siswa, keterlibatan orang tua, serta dukungan fasilitas sekolah. Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa integrasi teknologi Canva dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat secara efektif mengembangkan karakter peduli sosial siswa, asalkan didukung oleh strategi yang tepat dan lingkungan pembelajaran yang kondusif. This study aims to analyse the use of Canva application in learning Social Science (IPS) to train social care character in elementary school students. The research approach uses a phenomenological qualitative method, which focuses on direct experience and in-depth understanding of the practice of using Canva by teachers and its impact on student character. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results show that Canva application is used as a tool to present interactive and interesting learning materials such as making posters and comics. Teachers play an important role as facilitators in guiding students to use Canva to explore social issues such as environment, tolerance, and social responsibility. This implementation encourages students to think critically, work together in groups, and express empathy towards social issues. Factors that influence the success of the implementation include teacher readiness in mastering technology, student motivation, parental involvement, and school facility support. This research shows that the integration of Canva technology in social studies learning can effectively develop students' social care character, provided it is supported by appropriate strategies and a conducive learning environment.
