Abstract
Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis penting untuk dimiliki setiap siswa. Namun, fakta menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa di Indonesia masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa melalui penerapan Pendekatan RME dengan Model Kooperatif tipe TPS yang diuji cobakan pada kelompok eksperimen dan membandingkan pengaruhnya dengan penerapan Pendekatan RME pada kelompok kontrol. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan Desain Penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group dengan kelompok sampel penelitian menggunakan dua kelas yang masing-masing terdiri atas 35 siswa pada kelompok kontrol dan 30 siswa pada kelompok eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi pendekatan RME dengan model kooperatif tipe TPS lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa secara keseluruhan. Perbedaan yang menonjol terlihat pada kelompok siswa berkemampuan sedang. Hal ini dapat dijelaskan melalui peran Model Kooperatif tipe TPS yang memfasilitasi tahapan diskusi dan membandingkan jawaban pada pendekatan RME sehingga menjadi lebih terstruktur. Secara keseluruhan, inovasi pembelajaran ini layak untuk diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran guna meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa mengingat, frekuensi siswa didominasi oleh kelompok siswa berkemampuan sedang. Mathematical problem-solving skills are important for every student to have. However, the facts show that the mathematical problem-solving ability of students in Indonesia is still relatively low. This study aims to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills through the application of the RME Approach with the TPS-type Cooperative Model which was tested in the experimental group and compared its effect with the application of the RME Approach in the control group. This quantitative research uses a Nonequivalent Control Group Research Design with the sample group using two classes consisting of 35 students in the control group and 30 students in the experimental group. The results show that the combination of the RME approach with the TPS-type cooperative model is more effective in improving students' mathematical problem-solving skills in general. A prominent difference was seen in the group of moderate-mathematical capability students. This can be explained through the role of the TPS-type Cooperative Model which facilitates the discussion stages and compares the answers to the RME approach so that it becomes more structured. Overall, this learning innovation is feasible to be applied in the learning process to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills considering that the frequency of students is dominated by groups of moderate-mathematical capability students.
