Abstract
Children with emotional and behavioural disorders tend to have difficulty in controlling emotions, one of which is verbal aggression behaviour, causing children not to be accepted by the surrounding environment. Therefore, intervention is needed for children with emotional and behavioural disorders in controlling behaviour. This study aims to reduce verbal aggression behaviour in children with emotional and behavioural disorders by using expressive writing techniques. The research method used is experimental method with single subject research (SSR) research design with A-B-A design. Data collection was carried out in three by recording events. The baseline-1 phase (A-1) was 3 sessions, the intervention phase (B) was 7 sessions, the baseline-2 phase (A-2) was 3 sessions. The subjects in this study were children with emotional and behavioural barriers in grade 2 of elementary school. The results showed that the use of expressive writing techniques can reduce verbal aggression behaviour in the sub-aspects of mocking and swearing in children with emotional and behavioural disorders. This is based on the overall research data, where the mean level percentage from one phase to another decreases, namely in the baseline-1 phase (A-1) the mean level percentage is 14.33, in the intervention phase (B) the mean level decreases to 11.14, and in the baseline-2 phase (A-2) the number of mean levels decreases to 7.
