Abstract

Computational Thinking dianggap sebagai pendekatan untuk memecahkan masalah yang dilakukan dengan menerapkan ilmu komputasi. Perancangan algoritma, yang termasuk dalam salah satu aspek pemrosesan dalam berpikir komputasional, menjadi aspek utama dalam proses pemecahan masalah yang dapat dipelajari dan ditingkatkan dalam domain sekolah. Mempelajari algoritma juga menyiratkan urgensi dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan upaya untuk meningkatkannya. Oleh karena itu, model puzzle-based learning (PzBL) dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif, berpikir kritis, dan pemecahan masalah. Jenis puzzle yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah logic puzzle. Penelitian berbantuan multimedia ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian pra-eksperimental (non-design) dan berbentuk one-group pretest-posttest design. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata pre dan posttest sebesar 55,91 dan nilai gain sebesar 0,72 yang dapat diinterpretasikan ke dalam kategori tingkat keefektifan yang tinggi. Kelompok yang terdiri dari tiga kelompok, yaitu kelompok atas, menengah, dan bawah, memperoleh rata-rata gain masing-masing sebesar 0,67, 0,70, dan 0,78. Perolehan nilai n-gain ini menggambarkan bahwa setiap kelompok menerima dampak dari model puzzle- based learning berbantuan multimedia. Penggunaan model puzzle-based learning berbantuan multimedia dinilai sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir komputasional siswa. Efektivitas ini terutama terlihat pada kelompok menengah ke bawah. Computational thinking is considered as an approach to problem solves that is done by applying computational science. Algorithm-design, which belongs to one of the processing aspects in computational thinking, becomes the primary aspect in the problem-solving process which can be learned and enhanced in the school domain. Learning algorithms also implies the urgency of problem-solving skills and striving to improve upon them. The puzzle-based learning (PzBL) model can therefore be applied to improve creative thinking, critical thinking and problem- solving skills. The type of puzzle used in this research is logic puzzle. This multimedia-assisted research uses quantitative methods with a pre-experimental research design (non-design) and takes the form of as one-group pretest-posttest design. As the results of this research, there was an improvement in the pre and post-test average score by 55.91 and a gain value of 0.72 which could be interpreted into a high- effectiveness level category. Groups consisting of three, which are upper, middle, and lower groups, earned an average gain respectively equal to 0.67, 0.70, and 0.78. The acquisition of this n-gain value depicts that each group received the impact of the multimedia-assisted puzzle- based learning model. The use of multimedia-assisted puzzle-based learning model is deemed highly effective in enhancing students' computational thinking. Therefore, this effectiveness was particularly noticeable among the middle and lower groups.
